Slide step and time to the plate are definitely skills that are focused on at the pro level. The higher the level, the more it is tweaked and refined.

I was told, don’t watch it much, that there is no starting pitcher in MLB that uses a true slide step. I know Skenes does not use one.

Why wont they? That drove me crazy all season & I wondered why they weren’t using a slide step.

CFA wants:
1) A consistent repeatable delivery
2) Focus concentrated on hitter
3) Lessen chance of injuries/Reduce arm and shoulder strain resulting from a slide step Vs normal delivery.
