The list seems to be growing based on teams opting out. The following bowls have been canceled:

Bahamas (Conference USA vs. MAC)
Fenway (the Montgomery Bowl this year)
Hawaii (Mountain West vs. AAC or Conference USA)
LA Bowl (Pac-12 vs. Mountain West)
Las Vegas (Pac-12 vs. SEC)
New Era Pinstripe (ACC vs Big Ten)
Quick Lane (Big Ten vs MAC)
Redbox (Big Ten vs. Pac-12)
San Diego County Credit Union Holiday (ACC vs. Pac-12)
Tony the Tiger (ACC vs. Pac-12)
Tropical Smoothie Cafe Frisco Bowl (AAC vs. Conference USA)

Add to that expectations for the Military, Independence, and Guaranteed Rate Bowls to be canceled.

I really wish bowl games would have to have an actual name. I don't mind throwing the sponsor in front of it, but some of these sponsors are just making really silly bowl names.

Gasparilla Bowl canceled.

This currently leaves Conference USA champion UAB without a bowl to play in, at the moment.

News flash: stupid bowls that no one cares about are first to get the Big Flush.

I do hope that they’ll pick up a spot, the way that Army did when we pulled out.

I’d be happy to watch teams with genuinely successful records play in a bowl.

The Poulan-Weedeater Bowl set the standard. Certainly on the Mt Rushmore of bowl sponsorships.
The Salad Bowl was played in Phoenix in the 40s and 50s.

Tonight is the first time the canceled bowls hit me. I'm not a big NYE guy and I usually stay in and watch whatever bowl game is playing that night. Even if I go somewhere I usually end up watching the game there.

Can these bowl matchups get any worse? Incredible really how desperate the bowls are.

4-6 Kentucky in the Gator Bowl

Adding the All-Star games that have been canceled to the list, both of which were supposed to be on January 23:

East-West Shrine Bowl
NFLPA Collegiate Bowl
