From MSU? Would be a great addition and would have us top 10 pred season again.

And who are others we should be looking at?

Most impressive with him is his 4.0 gpa. Great student athlete.

Personally, I don’t care for intra conference transfers myself and would prefer to look outside the SEC. JMO
Understandable. Taylor is a great guy. Someone like Hunter Sallis from Wake Forest would be high on my list too…if he doesn’t go pro.

Neither Hubbard or Taylor are a good fit here in my opinion. Both good players, but not really team oriented enough to fit in on Barnes' team. They both demand full PG responsibilities too and ZZ has that position wrapped up (and is much better than both at setting up his teammates).

Tennessee probably isn’t looking for a PG or post in the portal. Vescovi will be replaced by Carr or Dillione. We’ll be looking for a stretch 4 to replace JJJ and a wing guard to play Knecht’s spot.

I think Carr and Dillione can be very good players with another year of development. Awaka will improve, as will Estrella and Phillips, so the post positions will be a strength. But we’ll need to bring in a Dude to go with those guys….probably a wing/big guard.

Maybe Northern Colorado has another top flight scorer that Tennessee can obtain for next season.

Some don’t expect Dillione to be back next season. That’s why I suggested who I did. If that’s the case it would be better to get a combo guard, or at least a guard who can score. It would give Zeigler some rest as well. Gainey is not the answer at PG, and Boswell won’t be ready.

We’ll see what happens, but I would not be surprised if we take a ball handler who can shoot the three and play defense like Vescovi. I think Carr becomes more of a SG/SF than a PG/SG

I watched Hubbard several games in person last year when he was in high school. He showed zero interest in playing any defense whatsoever. He hasn’t seemed that bad when I’ve seen him this year though, but I immediately thought, no wonder Barnes isn’t pushing hard for him.

This guy from Drake is quite impressive. Very similar numbers/measurables to Knecht. Also, someone mentioned Wade Taylor. I know he and Zakai Zeigler are friends. Wouldn’t mind seeing them sharing the court and Taylor playing off the ball for us. Doubt it would happen but a guy can dream right? Lol

Yes, Carr is a 2 or 3 and may be the guy who replaces Knecht in that 3 spot. He's not a PG. Dillione may not be back, but it also seems silly for him to leave now, with SV and DK leaving. I'm not sold that he's a PG. His ball handling is not good. Maybe it can get there. And while Gainey isn't the answer at PG, he's serviceable enough to give ZZ a rest...which is what he does this year. Boswell may be good enough to come in for 6-8 minutes and run the offense while ZZ rests. It's not like we have a true PG to spell ZZ this year, either.

Right now, with Boswell signed, Tennessee has room to add 2 more. If DJ Jefferson leaves, which I'd expect, that's room for 3. I'd expect the priority to be a stretch 4 to replace JJJ, a wing, and maybe a combo Guard after that. Although, if you get the 4 and the wing, maybe you just look for best available after that. Knecht's success would certainly help sell a transfer on Tennessee.

There have been multiple posts suggesting Dillione is considering leaving. Is there anything concrete to this or is it purely conjecture? Has Sterner fumbles commented on the topic? TIA

I say a lot of mid major players are gonna get some looks this coming cycle simply due to the success of DK. Teams are going to be looking for the next DK.

Many will owe DK a debt of gratitude for them making $$$ from NIL next year.
And Rick Barnes can knock on their door with a smile on his face and say, “Dalton Knecht chose TN, give him a call and ask why.”

They actually do have a nice forward named Saint Thomas, who is a junior this year and has nice game. Not anything like Knecht upside however but stats are similar.
Thomas is a good looking player. He’s not the 3pt shooter Knecht is, but he is an elite rebounder. Averages almost 20pts 10 boards a game. Would be a great replacement for JJJ. Actually, probably an upgrade.
