A coach's life has been ruined today...not only that but the lives of his assistants have been turned upside down. Think about their families as well...and our players. These folks gave their all for Tennessee basketball...I'm going to miss CDT.

I will miss him too but in life there are consequences for your actions.

I think he will be ok. He got a lot of money off UT for his one year stay. There is no reason to feel sorry for these overpaid coaches. Now, we need to land a good hire that can build this program to the level we witnessed 7 years ago.

I'll miss CDT but he done this to himself and I don't feel too bad because people get fired everyday that make way less money than these guys have. They'll be fine man.

I'm interested to see the penalties he received. Must have gotten the max.

When an "overpaid coach" is let go, there are many, many more lives directly affected (his assistants and their families and of course the players) beyond just the "overpaid coach". You got any ideas for maybe how Tennessee can go get a good underpaid coach now?

Due to my hubby's critical illness, I've been off VN but came here this a.m. after a news alert went off on my phone. Can anyone tell me what happened? I've read threads that hint at something not right possible illegal... does anyone have a slight clue? Thanks all!

Best of luck to all of the coaching staff, especially the assistants/families that trusted CDT to come work at UT. Hopefully they will land good jobs quickly.

Unless your Dave hart he will be just fine. The rumors of Tyndall and these issues were around SM when DT was interviewed but we're over looked, ignored. Yet Howland's past was to terrible to give him an interview. Glade Dave is here for the stability of the Atheletic department. GOVOLS.

The positive side: No more slobbering from SD about an average coach

My company laid off 200 people Friday, sorry - HIS life has been ruined? He and his assistants make 6 figures up. I am sure each will land on their feet. A profession that cannot be outsourced by American business leaders.

This is only a speed bump for Donnie.
He's a good coach and a good man.
He'll land on his feet somewhere eventually.

This would make sense if we had done something to him. These are all self inflicted wounds so if anything we pray he learns a lesson.

It is unfortunate. I don't even know what Tyndall did, but the guy knows how to coach and I liked him. We've now lost two good coaches for violation--in Pearl's case a pretty stupid one that needn't have resulted in his sacking had he been honest about it.

UT was in the basketball wilderness for a long time, then Pearl made us relevant, and now we are back in the wilderness again, I'm afraid.
