Let's face it, this is what really matters right now. What are the thoughts on this?

Unless something catastrophic happens, yes. Now can we continue to recruit like this year in and out? That's the real question! JMO

I think a problem might be are we going to have to kick a fully committed player out? They all seem to bleed orange as of now and there is obviously a serious possiblility of several of these recruits being replaced...
can that damage the reputation of Butch in any way for the future???
Also, who do you all think will end up decommitting soon?

Just think how much better the recruiting gets after butch starts winning next season. Guy hasn't put together a winning season yet, and is killin it. I have no worries if they can recruit, and no one else should either.

I have been around coaches all my life - my dad was a coach - As a player I would have loved to play for Coach Jones - he is a players coach - he is a coaches coach - he is very genuine - he loves his players - he bleeds Orange. I don't see anything that leads me to believe that anything will slow down our recruiting momentum - either this year or in the future.

I don't have a crystal ball, but he is one of the greatest ambassadors for the Orange Nation I have ever witnessed.

CBJ is the man. Brick by brick.

I would think that someone currently on the team is more likely to be shown the door or encouraged to explore their NFL options if there are any. Butch needs a fresh set of guys to put into his system.

So the worst teams get the beast recruits year in and year out? Are you really wondering why I'm asking?

No, but different recruits look for different aspects. Some just want PT, others want championships, others want to be a part of a rise, location, etc.

I for one do know something that will slow down our recruiting. And believe it or not it will slow down our recruiting this year. Losing like he has this year. Win 5-6 games next year see how bad the class is.

I guess you had to include the "believe it or not" because it doesn't seem to be affecting our recruiting at all.

There's a limit on how many guys we can bring in each year, regardless of whether or not we are under the roster limit of 85.

We iz doomed

Hopefully we can salvage top 30 or so class with the way things are falling apart at the seams in recruiting

Looking at the numbers…we are at 30 now and are expecting more commits this week. It isn't slowing down a bit.

Butch seems to be a great recruiter, and the facilities are paying dividends. The recruiting class will be solid regardless of what happens, IMO.

I hope we sign about 10 strong safteys with 4.3 speed and turn 5 of them into LB's .We so need to get back to Tennessee's Fast Defense!

To some extent - some of the recruits look at this process like I would look at lets say the stock market. Also a few of these kids are crazy smart or their family members are very smart - T. Kelley Jr., Hurd, the Berry brothers are examples. They look at what programs are trending up, what programs are trending down. What is a program going to be like when I get there and am starting in 2 or 3 years. These are smart kids and will be smart players. Unlike some of the fans who see 5 -6 these kids have met the coaches and done their homework.

Which stock is a Blue Chip and a huge buy right now would be the University of Tennessee. A top 2 class that will end up in the top 6 or so this year. Great coaches that will layer great recruiting classes on top of this one. Better jump on this stock now because in 2015 everybody will be buying it.

I thought your original question was regarding this year's class only. I see them holding onto the 2014 group and improving upon it overall before NSD.

As for future classes, I think what happens next season and beyond will have more impact on how successful the staff is on ongoing recruiting.

Also, the talent instate sounds like it could be even better next year. Hopefully UT can rely even more on more local recruits in 2015.
