Thank goodness I was old enough to appreciate each and everyone of those outstanding performances by the GOAT. I knew it was a special time in Vol history and I reveled in it. There were so many wins that stick out but the ones over Alabama, the win over Ohio State and, of course, the SEC championship against Auburn are my favorites. Don't know but CJP may have been on the field when Peyton ran the bootleg in the '95 game and for the game at Neyland in '96. Time to come full circle. GBO

Alabama legend Gene Stallings: Jeremy Pruitt similar to Dabo Swinney, needs to lean on Phillip Fulmer
Yes, he was with Alabama in 95 and beyond, with Gene Stallings. This is one of the research articles that I looked up. Gene Stallings was from the Bear Bryant tree. Pruitt has said he will use him, Dabos, Jimbo, and Sabans mixtures, and add what he knows to win.

It sucks we have to go back a generation to find examples of being really good.

Good Ole days except for the losing to Florida every year thing. No offense...but that's a biggie with me. Can't help it.

A couple of observations from this:

1. Those of us alive for John Ward's entire career were given a gift. Especially with his time being prior to the saturation on TV era, when listening to a game on the radio was actually a treat.

2. Peyton was indeed spectacular at UT. But, man, his offenses were loaded with studs everywhere.

I think we should do that with every recruit. Make them drink moonshine on their OV I mean.

If they can't handle it, send them home to momma.
If they like it, they'll come back for more.

Great video soundtrack by the way.

Same here, I adore Peyton but going 0-3 against Florida is the one tarnish on his TN legacy. He's still the GOAT but The Ice Man is my favorite TN QB because he drained the Swamp twice. Beating Florida means that much to this Vol.

The ball would be on the tee for the next kick-off and he would still be counting down the yards..

5.. 4.. 3.. 2.. Give him 6. <chill bumps>.

Not been the same since he left.

Its always nice being reminded of the days of Kent, Nash, Copeland, Price, McCullough, etc. What a WR corps.
