No, hat is just wittier than most on this board and he kills everyone with that wit. I don't think he's a mean person in real life, I just think that he finds it amusing that so many people get their feelings hurt over comments on a message board.

But Peyton Manning was robbed. But he's since won a Super Bowl ring, NFL league MVP, and Super Bowl MVP so I no longer care. Go Eric Berry. Go Vols!

Woodson was phenomenal at Michigan. "Pediestrian statistics" is such a crock. CB's aren't judged by their stats, they can't puff up the INT's and tackles the way safeties, who are free to roam, can.

As little as Woodson was thrown to that year, 8 INTs was spectacular and the INT against Michigan State was one of the best you'll ever see. The big special teams plays when they mattered most sealed it.

How many other great corners in college football since then put up much better stats on much better teams? I'd say quite a few. Neither of them suddenly got amazing hype and a Heisman. Very few have ever even gotten votes. Yet Woodson's suddenly better than Peyton Manning?

Great theory had Sam Bradford hadn't thrown 2 interceptions against his best competition last year on two separate occasions. One of which helped cost his team the National Title. Feel free to add Tebow in 2007 with his 3 losses and a 3rd place finish in his own division. If stats don't matter and people are winning based on what their "team" accomplishes alone then nevermind the huge numbers that Tebow put up.

It was well after the Florida game that Manning suddenly "lost" the Heisman. That whole mess had nothing to do with what Manning did or didn't do. Tennessee had already moved back into 1st place and had the SEC East and potential Orange Bowl match up with Nebraska in their sites when Woodson faced off against OSU.

When neither Tennessee nor Alabama have a Heisman Trophy winner, there certainly had to be an issue at some time.

We've had guys come in second to the only defensive player to win it, and second to the only player on a team with a losing record to win it... along with normal second place finishes two more times.

Honestly, Woodson's interception was pretty good... but it was still just one interception in a game where the QB was throwing it away, and on the punt return he "broke"(and I use that term loosely) one tackle(everyone else was blocked or out of the play).

But whatever, the main issue is how often Peyton was left entirely off ballots for the silliest of reasons. This article is from a former Gator beat writer who left Peyton off for not beating Florida, then included Ryan Leaf and Randy Moss?!

Hell, Tebow was left off 17% of the ballots last season... and although it's been a long time since I read an article on it, I seem to remember Peyton being left off around 20% of the ballots in 1997.

Look guys you all should know by now. Hate doesnt like PM because he is a good guy who is liked by most UT fans. If PM was an ass or a jerk then it would be a different story. But since he is a good guy and lost a whopping 5 games and only trounced our oldest rival and only help bring a new era to UT football and only won an SEC title and only set virtually every passing record he is a terrible QB that should be called captain stats and will never win a SuperBowl.... oops

I always use to think..."Did Woodson really deserve it? I mean he had great stats and Manning did lose to Florida." Until one day I decided to ask someone who can answer this game objectively. My dad. He loves Michigan and UT. It tore him up when UT played Michigan in 2001. I asked him about it three years ago. He said, without hesitation "Manning got screwed. Woodson could play, but Peyton got screwed." And that has been my answer everytime someone asks about that.

Paul Hornung from a 2-8 Notre Dame team beat out Johnny Majors, on a 10-1 Tennessee team in 1956, with worse numbers.

Florida is viewed differently than the rest of the South.

I doubt that Danny Wuerffel was viewed as being nearly as annoying as Manning. There are just a lot of people who think he is a d-bag and hate his accent.

It was until after Manning had the record breaking season and won the SB that he really started getting the respect that he deserved and the criticisims about his appearance and mannerisms died down.

The Heisman was decided before Tebow's bowl game loss and Bradford's NC loss.

Much better teams? Michigan went undefeated and won a share of the National Championship. Do you remotely know what you're talking about or are you just another Manning mark like Beef?

Yeah, that fluke Super Bowl win is a huge benefit for UT fans. Manning great guy. You know, the kind that publicly rips his teammates when he plays like crap and yet again gets Indy eliminated from the playoffs. Big Ben and Brady get rings. Manning gets TV commercials. That's the difference.
