I downloaded my tix for tomorrow's game from Vividseats (e-tickets, obviously) and was surprised to see a different look. I'm used to the bar codes like you'd see on a case of Cokes at Walmart. These look like the QR codes that became popular a few years ago for visiting websites with your phone. The VividSeats email says present your phone at the gate to be scanned.

I'm assuming everyone else's tickets look like this? Does this mean we no longer have to print e-tickets? I've never tried to use my phone for entry before because I was under the assumption that UT's scanners can't scan PDFs on a mobile device.

I belive so. My cousin got season tickets for the home games and said he can get them scanned from his phone.

Edit: Probably still print them just incase but surely you'd just be able to show proof on your phone for entry. It's 2019. Anything to speed up getting in and out of a stadium.

Yes, we have season tickets, but I ordered a couple of extras for this game and chose electronic delivery. Entry is by opening PDF in email confirmation to be scanned at the gate, or adding them to Apple wallet.

Do those have the QR code instead of the traditional bar code? My printed tickets for later in the season have the old-style bar code, where as the print-offs have a weird QR looking code.

I've used the old style bar code tickets on my phone and they still scan them just fine

They wanted to know if I wanted my BYU tickets via mail or electronically. I said mail. Technology is taking this country down, really!

I am interviewing for employment a generation that only knows how to play video games, to text and get tattooed up. Two and four year college degree folks don't know what a phillips or slotted screwdriver is, a drill bit or anything else.
