I have to admit, I've been away from the message boards until recently, but does anyone have anything new about the offense? What's happening differently? Progress??? From what I've heard, Jim Chaney is the one soley responsible for making Drew Brees what he is today. Has there been much progress with Crompton? I know that Stephens is hurt and so is Jones (who is potentially the third string qb), this has to open up alot of focus on Crompton. Also, how come I read/see the Kiffins' and Orgeron's name so much, but never see anything from Chaney? Clawson and Cuttliffe were very media friendly prior to their starts at UT, but it seems like I haven't seen one article/interview/conference with Chaney since his hire. If anyone out there can fill me in with either articles, quotes, facts, or links pertaining to Jim Chaney and the offense, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I do appreciate the feedback and all the Chaney info, but does anyone have any recent news about the offense?

I doubt the coaches can do much with the players right now. As someone said, the progress will be known soon.

I know a some Oline guys and they absolutly love Chaney. Say his system and Kiff's is great. Zone blocking is easier and allows better coverage.

they got about 20-25% of it installed in spring. will finish it up in August. Will also have to correct all the mistakes the kids create trying to learn it this summer.

Everything sounds real normal to me with progress on a new staff and new system being implemented..

Well, to be fair, Brees was pretty dang good in HS, he played here in Austin and won the Texas State 5A Championship. Its not like the guy sucked before Chaney got a hold of him.

Chaney is just the OL coach. He's not coaching QB nor will he be calling plays.

FYI: Brees' QB coach was Greg Orton, who is now the Tampa Bay QB coach, not Chaney. Orton, not Chaney, got most of the credit for Brees' improvement at Purdue.
