I want the Houston offense here at Tennessee. Their QB is quick as a cat. I hope Jones is as fast as this guy. Haven't heard much about him since he's redshirting but if he's anything like the Houston QB, we're gonna be in great shape.

Houston may destroy Temple in this game.

If he does leave, that would be a shame. I've thought, from day one, that he would be special here. Guess that's to be expected when we sign so many top rated guys.

Would the exit of a qb be as likely, at the crimson tribe or the oreo state, to skip out from those big time programs? Probably not. Would Jones bail from the next "IT" program in college football because of top-tier competition? Doubtful. Those who'd jump ship due to such potent competition oughta' go anyhow. I say he sticks around and makes a grand contribution to CFB's newest juggernaut of a team...regardless of in what position he does it.

Yes, if Tennessee gets Tom Herman as coach.

Thank you.

Gosh, people have the mindset that if a kid comes in and is not Cam Newton in year 1, then he's a bust and will transfer. Also, at UT, we have been thru the suckiest era in school history. Still the thinking is that every freshman should be starting.

But guess what, we have one of the better QBs in the SEC, and what appears to be an excellent backup. Therefore we are finally getting the luxury of redshirting at this position.

From all we know, Sheriron Jones is EXACTLY on pace as the staff desired when he was recruited. He looks to be having fun on the sidelines and seems to be fitting in socially for a freshman. He is a very talented player from watching HS tape, and we've seen nothing else except incomplete media practice clips of some drills.

People need to chill out with all the baseless xfer speculation. Hey, I hope JG wins is four NCs and four Heismans starting next year. But the odds (expectations) are that he redshirts too. VN is sounding eerily similar to the Riley Furgeson expectations & hype threads in this one. :-/

After Dobbs it should be Gaurantano, or it should be Jones. Dormady doesnt fit our offense very well. Great passer but not a great runner.

It's all about the coach. Not the personnel. We have great players...we just don't have innovative, aggressive play calling. Houston has a great coach. We have a great recruiter

Y'all are so silly. Neither JG nor SJ have any college game experience. Dormady has played in very limited amounts versus very sub-par teams. We have little to no clue at this point who is going to do the best against elite defenses. The idea that anyone on here thinks they know who is going to transfer (b/c someone likely will) and who is going to be the next star at QB is absolutely ridiculous.

Sounds a lot like Trevor Lawrence...guess we should stop recruiting him.

Barring injury Dobbs will be the starter next year. After that there will be an open competition in the spring and over the summer for the number 2 spot. It would be interesting if Jones were to win out that competition if they red shirt Dormady. JG will probably be the number 4 on the depth chart and get red shirted. That leaves us with a Redshirt Sophomore in Jones, a Junior (possibly but not likely a redshirt sophomore) in Dormady, and a Redshirt Freshman in JG (Plus whoever is a new freshman) in 2017. Out of that I would not be suprised to see either Dormady or Jones transfer if the other locks up the starting spot throughout the year.

If Dormady uses that redshirt year? It'll be for another program. Whoever loses out in the Spring competition will take it as writing on the wall.

I love how people act like they know anything about Jones, Dormady, Guarantano etc..

unless you get to watch practice everyday or get to see them in live, meaningful action against an SEC team, stop acting like you know what these kids bring to the table

We have no idea how good they are, and who is better than the other. And please don't talk about high school highlight film....please

I didn't mean to start a pi$$ing contest. Was just curious about the speed that Jones may, or may not have. I know he throws a really nice ball and has a strong arm. I would love to see a really quick QB with a strong arm in this offense. He could do some damage in the SEC :}:}:}.
