All we heard before the game was..VT is good, we better not be overlooking them..this unit or that unit is better then UT..Then we won, ran them over..And after the game, it turns into....

VT wasnt a real test..I will believe in this team if they can win against a real team like Florida..they need to man up, break the streak. After that, then I will be happy..then I will believe in CBJ and this team..so the team goes and runs over Florida.. It turns into.

Florida sucks..that wasnt a real test, it was at home..they were not full strength..newish coach.blah blah blah..but if if can go do it on the road...if we can beat UGA..thats a real test..Can we go between the hedges and get a win..have not done that since 06..Thats a real test...if we can do that, then I will believe in CBJ and this team..so the team goes to GA..manhandles them and gets the win..even though in the last seconds they pull ahead, our players are like NO!! Haha I love it, and you make a lot of good points. I think a lot of it might be just because we have forgotten what it's like to be "good". Like in a decade. So while you're definitely right, I think there's a reason why lots of fans are tentative to think we're actually a good team.

The thing is that with the exception of Ohio, every team we've played has been better than the week before. I don't think that bodes well for the next two weeks. I think we've gotten better as a team each week, which is to be expected but we've also had three very costly defensive injuries. This week at TAMU is our biggest test thus far. You missed the point. With VT, Florida and Georgia - the teams were considered good until we beat them and then those who had been building up those teams changed their mind and the teams were no longer any good. The same comments about showing up in the first half were made then as well.

I don't know what it going to happen at TAMU. I do believe Team 120 though can play with any team. It is really all about them wanting it and fighting for it.

I do wish they would start earlier - though if starting earlier means they let the lead slip away late - I would rather them start late, rally and win.

Well for what it is worth, the only losses to ranked VT and Florida are to Tennessee.

Ranked Georgia only lost to TN and Ole Miss, both ranked.
App St only lost to ranked Tennessee and Miami (although Miami creamed them on the road and we were sloppy at home).

Ohio is a good MAC team that beat Kansas.

Now if we could just play 4 quarters, we could be really dangerous!

I kinda get where you're coming from. It'd be nice to hear someone say "considering where this program had been, seeing what they're doing now, making plays to win games vs finding ways to lose, it's a credit to what they've been building in Knoxville "

But, that's part of the deal, as expectations rise, sobdonthe stakes. I for one am glad to be playing in now, what will be 4 of the premier games of the year. Were relevant and should continue to be, no matter what happens the next 2 weeks.

No that is not being negative..it is fine to say we have things to clean up..to get better at, there is not a team in the country..including the pro's that do not.

My post is about the people trying to discredit our wins after the fact, when before the game they were all doom and gloom, and how good that team was.

But then just because we win, all of a sudden they aren't..or we were lucky..sorry but there is no luck in football, players make their own luck by working hard and giving effort.

And just watch..it has happened 3 times already...it will happen again...

WE WILL BEAT A&M and then all of a sudden it WILL be oh well I guess we overestimated them, they were not that good after all, instead of giving this team and coaches the praise they deserve.

My definition of a negavol may be different than others. If a Loyal Vol Fan bashes players or coaches that's out of line. If they guarantee or just flat out states it like a fact how we will lose in the future that's out of bounds. Every week someone is saying "when we lose", that's just pitiful( how is that anything but negative). To state negative things about the future is the worst kind of negavoling.

It's hard enough listening to the gators and the dogs how they highlight our flaws in the most insulting ways you can imagine, but it's even worse when Loyal Vol Fans go out of their way to one up the trolls. I get the "I've got to see it to believe it" mentality, I'm the same way, when it comes to #120 losing a game, "I've got to see it to believe it".

They have gotten better each week against improving competition, the same will happen against A&M.
