Is this a possibility since he has hardly played this year? If so, what do you guys think he will do?

Some think he'd go undrafted this year. If he were to come back and have a good season without getting injured he could dramatically improve his stock

There was an article around the 2nd week of October stating he could come back. Whether he will or not is highly debatable.

Jalen Reeves-Maybin considering bypassing 2017 NFL Draft - NFL.com

Actually it says he (was) considering applying. Don't know if he did or not. I read another one that said he would likely get it.

Believe it or not, this is what the red shirt was intended for, actually. :)

Yeah, he could benefit too. If he comes back and the d looks better, his draft stock would go up. But he risk injury as well. Would love to have him, but I dont think he will.

He appeared in 4 games. Of course only played like one play in one. I'd sat he'd get it. With surgery, it's unlikely he'd be drafted

I thought I read where One of the insiders from one of TOS said he had decided NOT to apply for a medical redshirt. It was a few weeks after this article.

There's an article on SDS that said he said farewell to Neyland on his instagram. Wish he'd come back but he's gotta do what's right for him & that's getting drafted & getting paid. Good luck JRM. Thanks for the memories & giving your all for Tennessee every day. You will truly be missed.

It is possible. But i really doubt he chooses to come back

I doudt he will leave!
As an NFL scout, I would not be impressed by his size. He needs to gain weight. ALso, Can he stay healthy for a full season?
Return next season, perform all season with out injuries, gain weight and maybe the linebacker pool will be smaller next season and he can get drafted.
Look at the linebackers he will have to compete with to get drafted this season......

I'll be surprised if he's drafted but his social media post indicates he's leaving anyway.

Sucks as a Vol fan as I thought he would come back.

Wish him nothing but the best though!

Undrafted free agents average 500K in salary...so even if no one picks him up in the draft, he likely gets a one year if a contract for a chance to prove himself.

Look at Curt Magitt...word is Indy is going to offer him multi-year contract this off season.

Worst case the man has a degree from one of the best universities in the country.

So just as JRM said thanks to Neyland...I say, no, THANK YOU sir for helping make Vol football relevant again.

JRM really never considered it. He decided well before the season he was going and that was it. He was asked about the possibility and he acknowledged it was possible which was factual;y true but he never seriously considered it. Has family that needs financial help. time to go to work
