If “they” don’t let fans back in full force is this the end of college and NFL football. They’re not talking about it but it’s a killer to the economic side of the game which is huge business.

Not the NFL and P5/Notre Dame will be fine. The money made off TV contracts will keep those going for a good while.

Lower divisions and lower FBS conference teams/independents, yeah it's going to start hurting unless they can start paying those money games they need again.

As long as tv money is spending billions, the schools will be fine. The local businesses will not, which is exactly the plan. They want us reliant on gov handouts.

Yep. NFL and the Power 5 can still make a bunch of money from just TV contracts. The lower conferences, however, don't have that luxury. Maybe a silver lining might be a slow down in the coaching salary arms race but I doubt it.

The big question becomes do the P5 stick with the more robust (ie...bigger viewer draw) schedules or add back the cup cakes.
That would help subsidize the smaller conference teams courtesy of the beat-down money they receive but it will still be a challenge for them to stay afloat without ticket sales.

The landscape might change, but football isn't going anywhere. The Alumni will have to reach deep in those pockets if they want sports programs to survive. The lower revenue-generating sports might be the sacrificial lambs for the big dollar sports. Reality sucks.

Fans are just as much a part of the game of football as the game itself. The big conferences may survive a few years, some won't , just like small businesses everywhere they'll fold.

I don't believe Football with fold, but all the others except Men and Women's basketball will survive, but seasons are liable to be shortened and salaries will be altered.........more.

It won't fold as a whole. The smaller schools won't survive though. They take those games with Bama to get that 800k check. That makes up a large part of a smaller school's budget for the year. There won't be anyone there to bail these teams out of the red if there isn't ticket sales.
