He's already better than the clown from Michigan that won it....atleast Carr had enough sense to play him on offense too.

I am sure that Eric Berry is probably the only guy in the running for the prestigious Hesiman trophy.

Does anyone here really care or think that the Heisman trophy really means anything since Peyton? I can't say that I have paid it any attention since that farce.

Didn't I read something on here recently about Hornung asking Majors about that on a show and Majors making the comment that Jim Brown should have won it over either of them?

If so, it'd be a classy, and true, thing to say

Exactly, couldnt have said it better myself, No one cares about the Hi-Scam trophy since that joke. Woodson was not even the best player on his team much less best in the nation. The thing that bothers me is there have been tons of better defensive players over the years that have not even got consideration much less been in Ny for the presentation.

It just so happens the year Peyton is poised to walk away with it ESPN creates Charles Woodson and steals it away from by far the best player in the country. Then to top it off # 1 ranked Mich gets to play the overrated # 4 team WSU for the title instead of having to play us or NU. What a joke, I have never forgave Eddie "2 yard per cary" George for lobbying for Woodson and voting for him. I still hate the Titans to this day just because he played for them.

Well in the long run the back up qb tom brady but I really think Ian Gold was the best defensive player on that team.

He will have to make an impact on offense and/or special teams to have a chance. He will be very hyped next year so that puts him in the running to start the year.

I am glad they didnt give it to Peyton. Too much jinx going around NFL quarterbacks who won the Heisman. Not a one has really panned out. It doesnt seem to affect any other position. Charles Woodson has played well in the NFL. I think Berry should start receiving votes, but due to the Vols lackluster 2008 season thus far, he wont even receive consideration. Same happened in 2001 to IU's Antwaan Randle-El.

the only people that get the heisman are QB's, RB's, and sometimes WR's. I think he will win the Walker award.

My guess is a Big Ten DB will win it. Next year's favorite: whoever the starting FS for USC is.

ESPN will do the "honorable" thing and mention his name in preseason next year as a Heisman candidate. He won't get it this year. What's the NCAA record for career INT yardage?

Right on, they need to give him touches on special teams or offense.
