I was told by good friend of mine who's brother lives in K-Town and is also a booster that CLK has been put on a short leash by some of the high dollar boosters who are not pleased with his running off at the mouth and minor NCAA infractions. Here is the part that I said was crazy.......if he loses.....he's gone....

I know he's pissed some people off, me included by running his mouth before his team takes the field but I can't see a "lose you're gone" option.

I do think he needs to STFU and get a team on the field that can compete and win before he starts talking smack. I really hope I'm wrong but I think this is going to turn out to be a disaster of a football season.

i think these booster's need to STFU. The decision was made to hire the guy. he brought in a staff that is going to be a recruiting machine. Will that translate to better field play, we all hope so. If Kiffin is a game day moron, then maybe they can open their mouths. but for now, he is brash and unafraid. Now give him two to three recruiting classes and see how it shakes out. i highly doubt we will have two losing seasons out of three ... like we had.

If true they're creating a situation set up for failure. Unless someone is still pissed we didn't get a crony from the "good ole boy system", i'd have to call BS on this scenario.

Total BS on 1 loss and gone scenario. No booster is that stupid to even believe the way the team played last year that they would go undefeated this year. Your friend is yanking your chain.

Why don't you call up Kiffin and ask him; or call Halsam @ Pilot Oil; I am sure they would respond

I'm truly surprised that someone tried to pass this off with a straight face.

Now we know the source of the recruits/players threw pecan rolls out of the bus and Monte made Lane sit at the front of the bus rumors.

:cray:Every time I get on a BIG Orange high, I read post like this and it's like falling off a cliff! Can we all not get on the same page and get behind this staff AND players and just flat out support these guys? If recruits see us bickering amongst ourselves, how many of them do you thing will want to be part of this program? IMO, not many! To make a long story short, UNTIL CLK & Co. puts a 5-7 team on the field 2 out of 3 years, then this TEAM has my full support. In closing, "STOP TAKING ME OFF MY HIGH with this BS! :peace2:

Well, aside from being quite a distance removed from your friend's brother's booster, unless said booster's name is Haslam or Thunder, it ain't happening. Period. And even if it was one of them, CLK's buyout alone is too expensive for that to happen since they're still paying Fulmer. Add to that the cost of buying out all the assistants....no chance. Kiffin stays. It's a lock...mark it down.

I thought that once they got picked up by other schools ( as almost all of them have...) that UT didn't have to pay 'em a buyout. Am I wrong on that? I hope not because it would be ridiculous for UT to pay John Chavis some high dollar buyout when he just got a job at LSU paying half a million bucks!

quit being such a pansy and stop crying cause he is stirring it up. most ppl unlike you are excited that he's brought life into the program which before was stale and dead. the boosters can kiss my arse if they don't like it. you included

There has been an influx of dumb and even worse people that keep the dumb going. Pecan Logs, Gatlingburg, this, etc.

I call BS on this as well. Mostly because it is ridiculous. They might not be happy with some of his comments, but one loss and he is gone is just stupid. BTW, the boosters need to make their donations, sit in their club seats, shut up and let the coaches do what they need to do to win.

If the story was Lane threw Salt Water Taffy out of the bus I would totally believe it.

Nobody goes to G-burg and comes back without taffy.
