KPD and Campus Police plan to haul away loud and rowdy drunks at the game. thus reducing the rowdy raunchy atmosphere that neyland used to be known for.

this is extremely sad times. as society turns to fascist.

Enforcing rules=socialism?

Anyway, I've never been drunk at a game and I've always been consistently louder than anyone around me.

I had one drunk guy almost knock my mother down once. I got particularly loud with him.

I've been in that stadium drunk as a skunk and I've been in that stadium higher than hell. Don't act like an idiot around the gates and you're good. Bottom line: you act messed up around the cops, they have every right to make an example out of you.

I've been going to games since the late 70's. During that time I can only remember a few fans that really needed to be kicked out or arrested.

Exactly... It's not a difficult concept.

Maybe I can now take my grandchildren to the ball games and not have to explain what a lot of the words which are yelled mean.

It's never to early to learn.

I don't mind fans that are messed up--I've smuggled JD in more times than I can count--but if the cops are cracking down on idiots that make the game experience not as enjoyable for others, by all means go for it. Maybe my 30-year-old self with kids is more conservative than the 20-year-old student, but if you're excessively stumbling, excessively angry, excessively cursing (to the point where my kids are scared) or doing anything else excessive that makes a majority of the folks around you not have a good time---have fun in the drunk tank.

i understand that point of view and i try and curb my words around the younguns but, you can't shield them forever. just tell them not to repeat what they hear or there will be consequences.

besides if our team and playing improves the usage will language improve meaning you will hear less bad words and more yay and woo's.

Over reaction. The story says they will enforce a rule that has been in place forever. They plan to remove people causing trouble. Being loud in Neyland is not bad. The drunk guys showing caveman intelligence should be removed.

read my post on the texting system. even if you didn't cause trouble you can be removed if a text complaint is sent about you.

I swear if we release any sort of notice about rushing the field...

That was my first thought. The article was released on 9/1 so it was in reference to the season not this particular game. Hopefully it won't be long before huge loid crowds at meaningful games will the norm.

Or how about don't act like a drunk jackass in public?

You can be drunk, loud, and have fun without being an obnoxious vulgar tool. If you can't, you shouldn't drink.

I believe its an overreaction as well, however there is one quote that caught my eye.

Anyone coming into the stadium under the influence of alcohol can be ejected or arrested.*

Chief Troy Lane is promising more enforcement this season.

So does this mean if Ive enjoyed 3 or 4 beers at a tailgate and the officer detects alcohol on my breath at the gate that I can be arrested? Or is this primarily for the idiots who go in black out drunk?
