Looking to get a camper shell for the Taco. Trying to decide between a Leer and an A.R.E.

Anybody have any experience with either? Thanks

Leer is where I was leaning as I've heard of them before. Price isn't really a factor. I want quality

What year is your Taco? I have a 2012 DC. I have looked at the expedition covers that have the pop up tents and stuff

'13 DC XSP-X. I'm headed to Alaska so I want a had top. Only reason I'm getting one is the fact I'm going to Alaska.

Both are solid Yankee. We have a A.R.E. On the f250. We love it. Great for traveling.

I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Got a Leer on my GMC Canyon right now, had it for years, like it fine.

Only thing I would change would be if it could be lighter, to take on and off more easily, so it pretty much just stays on there all the time.

Went to order a Leer and they can't guarantee that it'd be ready before I need it to leave. The dealer will call Monday to see if they can.

Ended up buying a Softopper. Have been extremely disappointed. The first one ripped during install. The new one now has 2 cracks in the vinyl window. A waste of $635 as of right now.
