Your defense is pretty much intact this year, but you did lose Javon Hargrave. How much of a loss will he be?

McCullers is an improbably large defensive tackle who played for us like 7 or 8 years ago. I didn't realize that he plays for the Steelers now. I don't know any of the other guys.

McCullers is VFL - he was a JuCo transfer for us under Dooley and then played for Butch as well, so he was here only two years. Ended up being a 6th round pick for the Steelers in '14 and has hung around with them since. This is his teammate talking about him having the opportunity to step up this year for Pittsburgh.

It's remarkable that he has managed to stay with the Steelers this long. It's been a constant waiting game for him to turn the corner and become a consistent player.

I think McCullers plays more this season simply because they don't have any other options. Run defense he's ok but typically horrible on pass rush. I can see where he plays run downs and then Alualu slides into the NT on passing downs.

Yup. Dobbs plays for the Jaguars now. Big Dan, Ramon, & Cam are still on the steelers

Justin Hunter spent what I believe was his last NFL season on the Steelers.

The problem for McCullers is that the game has evolved with the pass friendly offenses so much so that that there aren't really "run downs" anymore.

He may not be the player we hoped he would be, but he must be doing something right to stay on a NFL roster this long.

His motor got him to college, then to Professional Football. I think that should be commended. He may not have satisfied anyone else's hopes & dreams & goals... But that would be completely irrelevant. Great job young man!!
