I have a female Bassett in heat. Need a full blooded male to get bizzay with her. Anybody within 25 miles of Union City and want to offer to get your dog laid let me know. You can have pick of the litter.

Make sure she's big enough. Don't strain her just for the use of making money.

I have a basset hound and was about to do the same thing, but took her to a Vet and was brought up to speed on the stress that puts on their back, even for that little bit of time it can hurt them later in life.

Just, get a pros opinion is all I'm asking.

She's about 65-70 lbs. A little over a year old. She isn't a registered dog so there wouldn't really be much money made. This would be the only litter I let her have anyway.

C'mon guys, I'm serious about this. I figure if one of you have a male I would at least get Vol puppies.

A lot of puppies in the pound... I got my half-bassett from a clinic. It was abandoned along with the rest of its litter, whom the owners thought would easily find homes...

Just sayin'. There are a lot of pets that need homes out there.

*steps off soap box.

We have a male that we adopted from Knoxville Bassett rescue. I don't think he's neutered, but I'm not 100% sure. Either way, I'm not sure my dad would allow it.

I bet he's neutered. I have never heard of any dog rescue not fixing a dog before adopting it out. Otherwise, they are spinning their wheels.

Not trying to be a smart ass or a PETA freak, but breeding dogs for s***s and giggles is no reason to be breeding dogs.

If you must, take her to a Vet and make sure she's healthy enough to have a mess of pups. Basset Hounds are unique and should be treated as such.

I adopted a Bassett through Bassett Belly Rubs Rescue in Nashville and they do neuter them when they get them. My Bassett just has a coin purse down there, sorry...

Believe me, they don't know the difference. It just helps to keep them out of trouble.

I got a Jack Russel mix from the pound about a year ago. The best dog I ever had! I would rather a mut. Full breed dogs are usually pretty dumb! LOL

my dog eats basset hounds, when not sniffing flowers or laying in the grass.
