I think Peyton will honestly be on the staff one day. He looked so effing pissed when Bama scored that last TD. Guy loves UT so much.

A lot of people see him as an NFL broadcaster, but I'm not so sure. He loves college football. I could see him getting completely away from the NFL. One thing is for sure. A lot of folks will come calling for him.

Even if he isn't a coach I see him returning in some capacity to be a volunteer ( no pun intended) or a recruiting coordinator.

They can come calling all they want, if he doesn't coach at UT he won't coach anywhere else.

Hate to say it but Peyton is headed to Hollywood after he retires. A few movies later he will get that burning desire for football. His NFL destiny is ownership not coaching. The only way he returns to vols is AD or if Fulmer is AD.

I don't every recall PM EVER wearing UT Gear on the sidelines until today! I am taking that as a sign that he wants to be back at UT!!

Here's my theory, Mahoney moves on, Debord coaches the entire offensive line, the grad assistant who is coaching the QB's moves on and Manning moves into the job as the QB coach at UT.

Will he show his butt like Terry Bradshaw in Failure to Launch?

You could tell Peyton was really into it. He was biting his nails towards the end of the game. Peyton still has a lot of love for the University of Tennessee.

I freaking love Peyton Manning. He's not one of these alums who only loves his former team when they are great, he's there no matter what - a true VFL. I'm torn on him coming back, Bc....

1) what if he's on some bad teams and it ruins his legacy here?

2) He loves coaching, ala his summer camp, and he is like a Jim Harbaugh 2.0 (minus the crazies).

I agree. He always spends his bye week at our game except the one year that we had the same bye week and he went to Duke. He is a football junkie. He won't be able to just walk away from it cold turkey. I do think he will give coaching a try for at least a few years.

It won't ruin his legacy if he'd a QB coach on a couple bad teams.

Nice. But, I don't see any logo's just an Orange shirt. Today he was dressed like a member of the coaching staff wearing all UT Nike gear. I don't every recall him wearing UT gear before.

Peyton will do whatever Peyton chooses to do. Chances are he will be very successful at whatever he chooses. He is the very definition of a VFL.

If he did decide to come back to UT, recruiting would be epic to say the least.
