Calhoun To Remain at Academy
Statement from Air Force head football coach Troy Calhoun.

Jan. 14, 2010

"We are more than grateful and proud to be closely involved with the character building of our cadets and the mission of the United States Air Force Academy. We are diligently recruiting and working with our team to prepare for the upcoming season. We look forward to coaching and being a part of the Air Force Academy team both on and off the field in 2010."

This is awful!! My worst fear was that we would end up with Calhoun and now even our worst case scenario has turned us down!! Who the heck do we turn to now? I think I will cry if we hire Cutcliffe that is worse than I thought our worst case scenario would be!! I don't know why but I think Bronco Mendenhal might be a decent choice but I don't know anymore.

We can't even lure a coach from Air Force? Mike Hamilton either sucks at negotiating, has a skewed view of reality (UT is in the upper echelon of coaching gigs) or both.

I think both....

Remember the silver lining. Kiffin was USC's 12th choice. We have a few more to burn til we get there AFAWK. Why i get any sort of satisfaction out of that is beyond me.

This is getting nuts! Why does no one want this job? I think Calhoun would have been a good coach, not great. I questioned his ability to recruit sa he has to do very little if at all with the Air Force.

So, who is next on the list?

We need to go ahead and hire Kippy as he WANTS the job!
