After reading up on Calhoun, I dont think he'd be that bad. Most people think triple option offense when they hear Air Force... but he has not always been an option guy. He's been an NFL offsensive coordinator and put up big numbers in the past with pro style, spread, and option offenses. This would be an interesting hire...

Aside from Kiffin's flashy recruiting resume, Calhoun looks like a better hire. He has the head coaching experience and has done well at Air Force with limited talent. He is also an NFL guy, so you keep that edge in recruiting. No black eyes on his reputation either.

These are the "pros" of hiring Calhoun... not sure what kind of staff would come with him, that is the biggest question mark to me...

There is no way he would run the option here. He has worked with the Broncos and Texans, so he knows how to run a pro offense. That is what he would bring here, not the option.

I hope you guys are wrong and he does run the option. I can guarantee you that no-one will tell him that if he comes to Tennessee that he "can't" run the option. I'd expect to see a nice little mixture of the two. With a strong running game comes strong commits at RB and Defense, and a strong running game and solid defense are the key ingredients to championships, lest we forget.

If he runs the triple option I will throw up.

I can't get over Georgia Tech scoring 7 points against Iowa. That was pathetic.

But he could get a QB that could run it...and use it as a Wild Cat type thing..

We know he can coach it!!

Can u imagine trying to defend a Pro Style and the threat of a triple option on any given play?
