...and UT plays about half of them.

As I have said before, yes DeSean Jackson is a great player, but it's not like UT is gonna be shocked when they see him again since they go up against elite players every year, almost every game.

Yea he's pretty awesome.

Nobody really hears about him since he plays for Vandy, but if he played for USC, he would be up for Heisman. :)

I respect the fact that you are proud of your team but I think I speak for most of us when I say :snoring:

Tennessee plays some elite wide receivers that usually don't have a competent quarterback to throw them the ball. Vanderbilt's Bennett and Arkansas' Monk are both standout receivers, but both are also part of horrible offenses (IMO Arkansas is going to crumble because of the off-season turmoil). I feel fairly confident in saying Cal will be the best offense Tennessee will face all season.

Yes. Jackson is a great player. Hopefully he can make some meaningful play on this year's game. By the way, I don't understand the purpose of this thread, looking for validation?

I'll get tons of flack, but Alabama's will be better.

Statistically speaking, who ended up being the best offense that UT faced last season? I would imagine Cal was up there.

They should be. They get to play the vast majority of their schedule against PAC 10 defenses.

LSU was the toughest offensse Tennessee faced in '06 averaging 417.5ypg (11th NCAA) and 33.1 ppg (10th NCAA). But Cal was right behind them with 416.6 ypg (12th NCAA) and 31.8 ppg (13th NCAA).

I feel fairly confident that I want some of whatever you were drinking when you wrote that.
And who is going to be better? Florida? I don't think a Tebow-led offense is going to be efficient at that point. Tebow is capable of leading the Gators to another SEC title, but it's going to be too early for him. I don't know what Georgia will do. And I doubt Alabama's offense is going to be that good unless their offensive line got literally one million times better in the off season.

Florida=Better. Georgia=Better. Alabama=Better. South Carolina=Better. Kentucky=Better. Cal's numbers are the result of playing in a conference where defense is frowned upon.

I realize the defenses are much worse, but that doesn't mean the offenses are worse, too.

Florida's offense will go on to be very good at some point next season, but not by the Tennessee game. Tebow needs time to grow.

Georgia has been very much under the radar this offseason. I honestly don't know what they will do.

Nick Saban is going to turn Alabama around, but their offensive line has been nothing short of atrocious for years now. They have a very large mountain to climb before that offense can be considered "decent."

I don't buy Kentucky having another big offensive year.

As for South Carolina... Which player are you buying for the Heisman? Syvelle Newton or Blake Mitchell? It might be hard without Sidney Rice, aka the best wide receiver in the history of all mankind.

Appreciate the numbers. Exactly what I was looking for, sans the desire to find it on my own.
