Cal linebackers have not reported to camp

D.J. Holt and Alex Cook have not reported to camp due to academic requirements not being met.

Also sophomore offensive lineman Kevin Bemoll was suspended from the team for the fall semester because he violated team rules.

none were likely to see any major playing time against ut anyway. Though holt and cook were major recruits.

Right, he was a JUCO. I bet Tedford wanted him to play. Losing a two-deep at any position is not good. However, your LBs are deep, at least for Pac 10 LBs. :)

well my understanding was that it was understood he might not play this year anyway. but there is no question tedford wanted him to provide some pass rush. The guy had an insane amount of sacks as a jc. I still think it is unlikely he would have seen much time against UT.

Cook plays with a ferocity, coming off the edge or shooting gaps with cat-like speed. In Blinn’s championship game, the speedy Cook utilized his 4.5 forty speed with an amazing 5 sacks on the day as Blinn defeated the nations #2 ranked JC, Pearl River CC, 19-6. Cook also caused a fumble that was picked up by teammate Damien Reed and run back for a 67 yard td. Cook totaled 13 sacks and 68 tackles on the year.

also says he was recruited by ut.

Isnt that arguement in favor of UT? So this means he was decent and could have been playing? Correct?

correct. no question he could be a key reserve later in the season. The first game? I doubt it. Cal has a lot of depth at linebacker.

williams was a big recruit, brother of DJ williams. Follett was second team all pac-10 last season even though he didn't start. Felder was a freshman all american. I believe williams was a 3 star, follet and felder were 4 stars.

Where were these guys when our mediocre OL and RBs were running all over Cal?
