I live in Chattanooga and want to take me and my wife on a weekend get away. Was looking for something romantic and private. Anyone have any ideas? I want to be able to sit in the hot tub and not have someone 50 feet away staring at you.

Go to the Gatlinburg website. They have a bunch of cabin selections.

Nothing says romantic getaway like a stranger staring at your hot wife sitting in a hot tub.

I remember the time I called about cabin rentals. Geez. Woman put me on hold, was told "You're caller number two" waited forever, finally the woman comes back to talk to me only to ask for my phone number and said she'd call me back. HAHAHA never called me back! And I was caller number two, damnit.

If you really want privacy I'd check out the Blue Ridge area. It's actually closer to Chattanooga and much easier to find cabins with seclusion. I've had success using the following site... many rentals by the actual owners and lots of pictures to see what you may be renting.

VRBO is Vacation Rentals By Owner

Just make sure you ask all the right questions.
  • how far to the nearest cabin
  • how is the view
  • how is the hot tub???
  • etc.

I've used Volunteer Cabin Rentals several times. They are mostly in the Wears Valley area between Townsend and Pigeon Forge. Most of them are in cabin developments but I never had any privacy problems.

Best chalets or cabins that I have stayed in at Gburg have been on Ski Mountain Road. Ski Mountain Rentals manages most of those up there.

Absolutely. Blue Ridge is the way to go, screw Gatlinburg.

Cuddleupcabins.com is great. Friendly folks and secluded cabins.

I've always stayed at Hidden Mountains its located up the road from Apple Barn. Its in a development but never any privacy issues. We always used the hot tub after dark though.

VRBO is the way to go! Or that Cuddleupcabins looks good too :) I've used VRBO countless times and have never ever been disappointed.

Bump...

I've checked out a few of the cabin websites and there are just too many. Some friends & I are looking for a cabin to stay in for the weekend of the SC game, so we want to be relatively close to k-town. There will be about 8 of us, and we're looking for seclusion, game room, hot tub, etc. Does anyone know a specific cabin to look for that would have all that?

HT and cabin might not seem to appetizing to her in the hot summer. I'd think about a resort/spa and shock her. If you're gonna go, go big. Taffy, fudge and meth in the air won't get you as far.

This one is not totally secluded but it was pretty private.

4 bedrooms and 4 baths. Very nice overall

816 River Rock Lodge

I stayed there in March.
