THREE FAVORITES EMERGE FOR HIGH-UPSIDE DEFENSIVE BACK AFTER ROCKY TOP STOP

Jacob Whitehead
made it to Tennessee this past weekend, and it's shaping up to be a battle between SEC schools heading into the new year considering that the long cornerback said he has the Volunteers high on his list along with Texas and Texas A&M.

"I loved it — the culture and vibe matches mine," Whitehead said of the Tennessee game experience. "Everyone was really nice and made sure I enjoyed myself. I didn't get a chance to stay for the whole game because my flight back home left at 6, but from what I saw they have a really solid team and great coaches.

"Coach Danny O'Rourke showed me the facilities and I got a chance to speak to the defensive backs coaches. They gave great advice. It was a quick one-day visit because I took redeye flight out there and left same day, but the Vols are in my top three for sure. I will be back in spring."

The Longhorns are set to get the three-star corner from Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco on campus this coming weekend for the game against Arkansas.

Whitehead, the nation's No. 40 rated cornerback who is set to play in the 2026 Navy All-American Bowl in January, hopes to be ready to make a college choice in the spring.
