Daryus Dixon made it to Tennessee on Saturday to take his first look at Josh Heupel’s program. “Today was really a great day,” Dixon told Volquest. “Coaches really made me feel welcome from the time me and my mom walked through the door. The game was good, too. We watched the first half of it, and they were up by a bunch, so it was a pretty good day.”
“I would say after every bucket, they were going crazy, so I could see the energy off the football game from that too,” Dixon said. “Coach Martinez is a cool guy,” he said of Martinez. “I know Coach Nez and I really clicked a lot today. We have talked on the phone a lot, but it was really good to see him in person today.”
“It wasn’t really about football today,” he added of the conversation with Martinez. “It was really just about life and what I want to do further than football.” “Coach Banks is a really cool guy,” he said. “He was in there with us and everybody was having a really good time at the game. He is a cool guy.
So what did this visit do for Tennessee? “I am not going to lie, this is what I would put up there in my top,” Dixon said. “I really liked today and will hopefully come back soon.” The coveted four-star recruit feels like he brings plenty to whichever program he ends up choosing in the recruiting process.“I would say that I bring a lot,” he said. “My athleticism, my strength and my feet with me covering guys. I would just say it is different.”

From Rivals:

Tennessee had its chance with the four-star cornerback from Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei over the weekend and Dixson loved how the staff treated him and his family as the Vols continue to be a main contender in his recruitment.

But things are still open and others are definitely contending for that top spot as well as Texas, Washington, Georgia, USC and Oklahoma have made big impressions.

West coast defensive back Daryus Dixon loved his time in Knoxville back in January and Tennessee seems like they are a real factor currently for the Mater Dei playmaker. New linebackers coach William Inge was on Dixon at Washington so there is a relationship that exists to go along the one he has with the rest of the Tennessee staff.

I’m pretty sure it Mader Dei.
No T anywhere…😴😴😴

It seems like Heupel took my advice.
We haven’t heard anything about this kid, Harris, McDonald.

Complete waste of resources to recruit this school. What are we 0-12 now??

To many great players in our 6 hour radius to be flying kids from LA back and forth 👍

Dude, Im not one of those people that despises you like others. In fact some of the people that you beef with are way worse than you. Taking a victory lap over a kid committing to the 4th or 5th best team in the B10 is pretty Beta.

0-12, man. Just for clarification that’s the number of Mader Dei kids we’ve recruited the past 2 cycles.

What are you talking about??

I’m talking about using resources EFFECTIVELY. Shut up with that Beta nonsense…
