Did Chaney run the offense at Purdue when Drew Brees was there?

Low is possibly on save face mode. Then there is hope its like the Miles to UM story

He and Hubbs are purely speculators only, especially with the new coaching staff. They are scrambling for scraps and getting scooped at every turn.

So let me get this straight.

Volnation and Tigerdroppings blew up last night with info on O going to LSU.
And by all accounts they are willing to pay 600k plus to get him.

The remark was made last nite that Hubbs did not think we were walking away.
And then today, Low says basically the same thing.

LSU would have had to stay in the 400k range, and we would have to be in the 600k range to get him. This ain't EBAY where you win the bid by a dollar. We had to come up with substantially more money than LSU, to get him to leave home.

If Low, and Hubbs think we are not done dealing, and the LSU figures are right(600k).
It would prolly take 800k or more to get him.

I think anymore, you have to be able to go at recruits from all angle's and with guns blazing. building a staff is more important than the head man himself in many aspects. I would Like coach O to come to UT, we could use his intensity.

....could this be yet another way good ol' jimmy sexton drives up O's price?

That appears to be exactly what is happening. We should not go crazy just to get O. There are other guys out there just as qualified that will gladly take our money.

I don't think that the Orgeron/Chavis relationship would be so hot. Chavis doest not like people with big time personalities(Taylor) and Orgeron is a different character and the thought of O making more than Chavis I just find that hard to believe, Chavis would not like that to much. In the end I just see him staying with the Saints I just can not see either program giving him 6-800 thousand to be a position coach.

One ray of light in this whole O deal.
It is a good thing the Saints did not make the playoffs.
He would have led Lane on a lot longer, and could have caused more damage than it has.
Been nice to have known this 2 weeks ago.

I keep seeing people saying things like "there are coaches just as good or better as O"... Can these coaches match O's intensity, or passion for recruiting and coaching? I'm just wondering if there will be the stand out coach in the locker room and on the sidelines that has that in your face kind of personality. I think that energy is something the players feed off of.

I don't think that intensity is the be all end all for the product on the field. But I do believe it plays in to the intensity of your players.

There were reports Tuesday night that Orgeron had accepted a position at LSU as associate head coach and recruiting coordinator, although nobody at LSU was willing to confirm that. The Vols are prepared to pay Orgeron as much as $600,000 annually. He's considered one of the best recruiters in the country and would also coach the defensive line.
