Pre-snap reads where the QB changes the play call at the LOS is more where I was coming from. I'd liken RPO decisions to old time triple option reads by the QBs in the 1970's. Based on how the defense reacted the QB handed off to the dive back, flipped it to the option back or kept it. Even passing out of it sometimes. I'd say its more like a reflexive or instinctive play much like a basketball point guard getting the ball to the open guy than a "cerebral" play. I'm talking Manning, Brady type calls where they could tell the Sam was coming so they knew they had a slant to the tight end. Coaches no longer expect QBs to see that. The QB's just got specific reads they are making post snap and just like the old triple option you do this if they do that. .

After watching various and sundry young talented QBs from the gatas and gumps romp us on Saturdays, it's about time the law of averages fell our way and we ended up with a 6'4" 224 lb freshman QB with phenomenal talent who can romp their sorry axxes.

I think if UT fans exhibit a bit more patience, the Heup will bring UT all the way back to being Orange Ogre of the SEC. I will say this. Fazion has all the elite physical talent and between the ear holes he has the want to; want to come early stay late working on his game. The only thing that we do not know is on gamedays does he have it between the ear holes when thing are moving fast
If Fazion has it there then we will here is named called as a Top 5 NFL Pick most likely the 1st. Time will tell. In CHRIST Alone

After things have gone with Tayven Jackson, Jake Merklinger, Nico, and GMac (although the jury is still out)... I need to see one of Heupel's HS QB recruits actually produce at a high level before I get excited about anyone. He's proven that he can develop guys, but they've all been portal QBs. We're in year 6 and he's yet to develop a HS QB into anything more than serviceable. As a result, we're on our 5th starter in 6 years.

I’ve been saying GMAC has been doing EVERYTHING you would want a 6’6” 180 lbs QB to do with 20 months on campus. He’s like 210 now. But his processing speed needs to speed up. Experience obviously helps with that.

Let me put it this way.
Would Tyler Bray beat out Cam Newton if they were both freshman? Can Newton was running over Dennis Rogan on back up duty before he became a monster an Auburn. Tyler was forced into duty late his freshman season.

We all know how good Tyler was! Now add mobility to that! That’s GMAC. He’s a damn talented player that unfortunately came to Tennessee before one of the best prospects Tennessee in its rich history has EVER SIGNED.

Get it out of your heads that GMAC is overrated.

I would like to see him run the 4th quarter. FB needs reps badly, but it's important for your backup qb to have his head in the game.
