#Vols’ Butch Jones has been given a $500,000 raise, up to $4.1 million annually.

Butch Jones has been granted a $500,000 raise for the duration of his contract. No added years.

As an added note, pool of six bowls no longer grant him a $200,000 bonus. That has been reduced to $100,000. Outback Bowl this year will still grant him his $200,000 bonus, but going forward any of the 6 will only be $100,000.

Also, language has been changed so that any bowl in the SEC pool of six gets him $100,000....

Previously, an Outback Bowl bid got him $200,000. He gets $200,000 this year, but he won't get that for any future Outback berths.

Perfect. He deserved a raise but not an extension and that's what happened. Well handled all the way around. Now, lets make a playoff run.

Exactly what needed to happen. The job should pay somewhere above the SEC median, which is where this raise puts it.

Hart did well with this move.

A raise is fine and warranted, adding to a bloated buyout if things go south was not.

Not warranted. Now, if he would pull in another top 5 class, then I'd grant it...:) Really do like the non-extention though... Maybe Dave isn't so stupid after all...nah...:salute:

GO VOLS!

Have to wait and see what happens with everybody else. Saban, Miles and Summlin make significantly more.

And two of the three have done significantly more so they deserve it.... hopefully this puts him above .500 in the SEC after the dust settles.

I am not sure that Kevin Sumlin is worthy of his elite salary. Johnny Manziel had much to do with his overall success early on.
