-Butch on the Vols' No. 19 ranking in the College Football Playoff Poll: "All of our focus is on preparing for our next opponent and that's Missouri." [Butch really is a cliche machine. lol.]

-What will you remember most about this class? Resolve, resiliency, high character, college graduates. These individuals right now have a couple of bowl championships and these things are very important. We always talk about is Tennessee football better because you were a part of it? All of these individuals have impacted the program in a positive manner.

-Looking back at that first recruiting class, if we could find our quarterback of the future, it would be a success. We were able to do that in Josh Dobbs. We had impactful players on and off the field. They will definitely leave a legacy.

-Josh Dobbs had to play before he was ready, but he showed a lot of maturity. The Alabama game on the road comes to mind.

-Missouri will be high tempo. Conditioning will be a factor. It will be a great challenge for us. Snap and clear.

-Auburn 2013 was a turning point for the program because of overall team speed. We knew we had to recruit speed but it clearly defined itself in that game. They had a number of special teams touchdowns and big plays on offense.

-Chance Hall and Dylan Wiesman are questionable but are going to try to practice today. They are questionable right now. Same with TK, but he's doubtful right now.

-There are so many great players that have walked the same path and used the same facilities. There's a scale that's been in our program for a long time. Reggie White stood on that scale. Peyton Manning, Eric Berry, Trey Teague stood on that scale. We found it in a storage area and fixed it and we have it in our weight room. It's very symbolic of all the great players.

-Breaking Reggie White's record is probably the furthest thing from Derek Barnett's mind, knowing him. He'll obviously be recognized at the appropriate time [if that happens] and rightfully so.

-How much ground have we made up in speed since 2013? That's one of the things we are looking at in this recruiting class: Do they improve our overall athleticism and team speed? We've improved our team speed greatly but we're not where we want to be.

-Rings are very special. Each team is bonded by a championship team. That ring tells a particular story of that season. It also builds pride in your institution. Those rings will be displayed and handed down. There's a lot of healthy things that come from those.

-Graduation is first and foremost the most important thing. The biggest game is the game of life and how these players are equipped to handle it when they leave our program.

/Butch

Fifth-year defensive lineman Charles Folger

Folger:"This is my first time doing media so I'm excited. Before we get started I want to make an announcement. I'm going to declare for the NFL Draft this year. I want to thank everybody for my time here at the University of Tennessee. [laughs] I've waited five years to say that guys, you have no idea how excited I am."

Folger: "Guys like Andrew Butcher and Paul Bain, some of my best friends on the team now, help me keep going."

Folger: "If I gotta say one thing about the previous coaching regime I'd say: 'Does anybody see Rommel?' 'Rommel!' 'Where's Rommel?' We joke about it all the time because we know how much better this program is with Butch Jones and their staff. We came in knowing what we were getting ourselves into but we didn't know what was coming our way and we couldn't have asked for anything better."

Fifth-year linebacker Kenny Bynum

Bynum: [Asked did you ever think about leaving early and not taking the hits this year?] "Nah, I'm an education first kind of guy. I'm in masters school right now in the sport management department. I'm not gonna leave, to not get my masters. I work hard. As far as taking hits, I play probably the worst position on the team which is the PP, the punter protector. I kinda like it. I used to hate it, I'm not gonna lie. But now, I kinda like being the PP and just being out there in control and just put my face in the fan."

Fifth-year tight end Jason Croom

Croom: "I'm definitely going to miss running out there and playing in front of Neyland Stadium every Saturday. But just because it's our last home game, the season's not over. I'll have time to sit back and reflect on everything once it finally comes to an end."

Croom: [Asked about not thinking about exploring the option to extend his career another year.] "It was something that was brought up, but just being in college, it's a lot of wear and tear on your body. Just being here five years and going through it all. I believe it's just time to see what I can do next."

"He's consistent every. day. of. the. week. - There are no bad days in the life of Josh Dobbs"

I can hardly believe this will be his last game in Neyland. Gonna miss this guy.

Funny. Folger was fantastic up there.

I know we all have a different perspective as fans, but watching and listening to these fifth-year seniors like Folger, Bynum and Croom talk is an eye-opening reminder that college football is still about these kids who give their all every day for our program. I really appreciate their contributions, and these guys serve as another reminder of why I'm proud to be a Tennessee fan.

Totally agree. Watching those guys' press conference warmed my heart a bit, especially Folger.

Folger was fantastic. It was evident that he really loves Tennessee.

I'm really sorry I missed that. Unfortunately, wasn't part of the saved video that you linked. Maybe I can find it on Youtube....

Yes, we owe these guys a debt of gratitude for all they invest in our Vols. Most of us simply have no idea what it takes to play, much less succeed, on this level. They do the work, we get to watch and cheer.

And this is still the best summation of the Dooley years.

Even in this wildly inappropriate analogy, he misses the point. The German soldier failed because they were not trained by leadership to act autonomously in a leadership vacuum. It was the leaders who did not train or prepare them to defend their posts appropriately without orders.

Dooley is so clueless as to not realize that in this analogy, DUDE, YOU ARE FRICKING ROMMEL!!! Answer the damn phone and lead your troops!
