Butch Jones Takes blame for Florida loss

Calling a pass play on the one yard line was a WTF moment for me. But most of the mistakes were on the players, plain and simple. The players made a lot of mistakes, throughout the game. Any one of them might have made the difference between winning and losing.

Got to say that Martin's chase down which saved a TD was one of the finest efforts ever. The guys made many good plays, just too many bad ones in the mix.

So frustrating to see SC and Vandy play way over their billing, and as a solid team with unity...what we thought we would see from UT...and we can't get the basics right like running the ball from the one, feeding th rock to Kelly. And playing two deep...deeper than the deepest man on last play (that's basic HS stuff). We need refunds from ast coaches and Jones for letting them call the plays.

Somehow good coaches always seem to get their guys to make plays when they need em.

He allowed the embarrassing offensive play calling mistakes to go right through his headset over and over, and he did nothing to change it.

His fault is not in preparing, it's in his garbage offense that he stubbornly refuses to adjust using common sense.

I would start by looking in the frigging mirror. This might be the worst coached game I have seen in my 66 years on the earth. Butch I am sorry to say is a chocker. I have seen it many times on the golf course. Some relish the moment some melt like cheese. Chocker Jones, made it impossible for his team to win even with a gutty effort like I saw. Hard for me to support this staff, players yes, staff not a chance.

I agree! There was MANY plays that if made would have made a huge difference, but that is life..what if!

UT pays a man #3 mil plus to coach this team. If they play hard to overcome mistakes, its his job to put them in a position to win. Not running the clock out when we had the ball where a FG to tie was a gimme is on him, No one else! Run the ball to make FL use all their TO's or until we score. If we don't get a TD, run the clock down to 3 seconds and take a TO to kick a FG...go to OT to win!

PERIOD

Right about now, I think Jones ought to run that team until every one of them is laid out puking or passing out. I know he loves those guys, but the ****** ******** **** ** ******* have to learn enough discipline to stop making mistake after mistake after mistake.

Well, I agree with much of that, but it relies on the players not screwing up. Like the pass play on 1st and goal at the 1 yard line. If Dormady throws it away, they're still on the 1. But Jack Jones had to false start and move them back to the 6. Seems like that guy drew about three penalties to mess up the team's scoring position, again and again and again.

It is not a garbage offense. It has been a great offense. We significantly out gained FL.

Here CBJ is accused of allowing Scott to much freedom to call plays while for years he has been accused of micromanaging. WHICH IS IT. Butch and Debord are too conservative, Butch and Scott are too radical.

You may not like the play calls, but each time we got in the red zone players made errors that prevented scores. The great coaches say it's not the play you call as much as the quality of the execution.

Like all others this is a team loss. Players and coaches all take part of the responsibility. Yes the Head Coach is ultimately responsible. It is early in the season and offenses have these problems, even AL. They will get it fixed and the O will roll.

I was not embarrassed by the play calls as much as the penalties.

This is what's bound to happen when you recruit your head coach from football powerhouse Cincinnati.
