He only started 2 players that he recruited this past year (besides injuries)

Offense:
QB - Legaux - JR
RB - Winn - RS SR
TE - Kelce - SR
WR - Thompkins -SR
WR - Chisum - SO
WR - Mcclung - JR
OL - Bujnoch - RS JR
OL - Hooey - SR
OL - Longo - JR
OL - Lefeld - RS SO
OL - Sprague - RS JR

Defense:
DL - Dempsey - SR
DL - Giordano - RS SR
DL - Stewart - RS SR
DL - Williams - SR
LB - Blair - SR
LB - Bomar - SR
LB - Temple - SO
DB - Cheatham - RS SR
DB - Chenault - JR
DB - Drane - JR
DB - Frey - RS SR

So, 2 of the 22 Starters were recruited by Kelly, not him...

Does this not worry anyone else????

Except a) it's dubious to say the 2010 recruits were Kelly's players, and b) Jones' classes ranked higher than Kelly's.

He said his team clapped when he announced to them (Cincy) that he has accepted the UT job.

THAT IS HUGE.

2010 Kelley 61st, 2011 Jones 42nd, 2012 Jones 34th, and 2013 Jones 62nd. Not exactly an impressive resume.

Kelly also had Pike, Pead, and Gilyard at the same time.

I think Jones could've done the same as Kelly with the talent Kelly had.

You mean juniors and seniors starting over freshman and sophomores? Holy sh!t, who would have thought.

No, I'm saying he's never had to play his own recruits.

At CMU, he followed Kelly, and played Kelly's recruits for 3 years and left. The past 3 years with his recruits CMU has sucked.

He followed Kelly at Cincy, and has played Kelly's recruits for 3 years and left.

He's never had to play his own recruits, he always leaves before he has to. I want him to succeed, but, look at it from an unbiased perspective. It's a little scary

His recruits were ranked higher. Also, even if Kelly recruited those guys, Jones still had to coach them and get them to overachieve. Cause again, Kellys classes were low rated and Jones got the most out of them.

Now, selling Cincy can't be easy. Selling UT should undoubtedly be easier. I am cautious but optimistic he can get it done.

We should turn this thread into his potential to recruit to TENNESSEE, ya know since he coaches here now.

CBJ's classes where 2010, 2011, and 2012, so he players today would be
2010 class - JR so 7 starters
2011 class - SO 3 starters
2012 class - FR

The 2010 class was Kelly recruits, and RS So have been there 3 years. Only 2 starters would be labeled his recruits. I'm worried, but we'll see how it turns out

He also recruited Thompkins who is their star receiver and came from JUCO. There may be one or two other players that came from JUCO as well. Just looking at the grade level of the starter doesn't necessarily mean who recruited them...

You did not take into account jucos, transfers, and you can't give credit to Kelly for that full 2010 class as some committed after Kelly left.

So let me understand this logic. Kelly didn't coach one player from the 2010 class yet he deserves all the credit for their success?

Kelly started at ND December 10, 2009 and Jones was hired December 16, 2009. Therefore, he would have had 2 months to close out UC's recruiting class. Jones would have benefited from relationships that Kelly had begun, but IMO he would have had enough time to put his stamp on that class and should be counted as his.
