What Tennessee coach Butch Jones said after Vols’ 29-26 loss to Kentucky

Opening statement: We didn’t capitalize on our turnovers. We weren’t able to capitalize on our good field position. We couldn’t stop the quarterback on the zone read. Nine penalties is inexcusable, and that’s on me. It all falls on my shoulders.

On turnover margin: To come away with six points is inexcusable.

On unsportsmanlike on the whole team: It happened early in the game. They told me any more unsportsmanlike, they would be ejected.

On running backs: All three stepped up. They all did a great job. They all did an exceptional job.

On Ty Chandler: It was important for him to step up. We’ve said we need to get him more involved.

On the health of the program: Was that a team that quit? No. That team battled. We are making too many mistakes, but this team has not given up. There is a lot of pride in the locker room.

On breakdowns: Penalties are inexcusable. Presnap penalties are catastrophic. We can not have that.

On expecting support from John Currie: Absolutely.

On coaching for his job: No, I always feel like I’m coaching for my job. It’s a mindset I’ve had since day one.

The fact that he thinks he deserves full support from Currie and our Administration is embarrassing.

I’m sick of this dude.

I just want to know why we couldn't ice the game on the final two drives? That's my question. Let Chandler lower his pads for 3 straight plays. Run the play clock down to 1 and snap it. All simple rules all of us learned playing NCAA Football on PS3. Turn on the melting clock with a lead close, and snap with 1.

Very very good basketball. I mean football team. We played UT style football. Great individual reps along with a bad eye discipline moment cost us a loss. 2nd time in 30 years vs the round ball schools

Haha on the next to last possession Jordan said "you're gonna see Tennessee let as many seconds tick off before snapping the ball here." Snap with 15 seconds left. "Well, thats what they SHOULD be doing."

LMAO.

You know, for a guy that gets compared to Brian Kelly, they sound nothing alike. I was listening to BK on Mike and Mike the other morning. Guy was smart, talking schemes, knew his stuff. Nothing like cliché machine Jones.

Watching that made me sick, he looked like he could’ve cared less about losing and had the look of a man with no worries. Sadly Currie was in attendance and knowing that combined with the way Butch looked leads me to believe Butch is here til the end of the year at the very least and may even be given another year if he can win 3 more games.

Am I watching a press conference or a creepy porn video because the heavy breathing throughout is disturbing.
