"you don't want to peak too early, you don't want to plateau, you want a steady trend upwards (in progression of a team). I think I see that in this team. We looked better in practice (since the VT game)."

Listen to him.

It isn't necessary to look that bad... sometimes as if they had no idea what they were doing.... to have a steady trend upwards. It also isn't necessary to underperform your team talent to have season long progress.

The idea shouldn't be to set a bar low enough that it is easy to reach.

Saban preaches the same stuff.

You mean except the option that worked best the other night, right? Thomas RT, J Jones RG, Wiesman C, Robertson LG, and Kendrick LT. The OL also played better with Richmond and without Thomas.

Whatever isn't working.... apparently has to do with the two of them being on the field at the same time.

He doesent trust him to handle his man.

Thomas is effective when he is pulling and blocking downfield. That makes him good for run blocking but not pass blocking. He's like Dobbs, keep them static on passing downs and bad things happen. Let them run around and good things happen. However,
If his ankle is so bad that he can't handle the rush with quick feet then he doesn't need to be on the field playing until it is fully healed

I agree with you....but he seemed to do fine when playing at RT in the VT game with Wiesman at Center.

My point was that the OL play will be better when all of our guys get healthy...hopefully, that will be sooner rather than later.

GO VOLS!
