Title says it all. I'll admit I was pretty down on him after the past month and had major doubts, but tonight's win may have shifted the trajectory of the program mentally for both the coaches (play calling) and players (execution). GBO!

Being down like that was absolutely needed to learn what we can do. I think we are in a good spot for the rest of the season and into the off season

This game was needed, the Vols needed to learn to play to win. Not to play not to lose. and they did great at it!

You mean he got 2017? Because he was gonna be here next year even if we lost...
I disagree. If we lose this one I could easily see them giving up and going 5-7 or 4-8. At that point it could have become a serious question, especially with a loss to Kentucky. He still may have stayed, but recruiting no doubt would have suffered. I guess I should have worded it differently. He GUARANTEED himself another year tonight.

Even if we lost tonight he deserved one more year. He took over a dumpster fire. I was just as pissed at some of his decisions in the three losses this year but Strong PASSED on this job. That's how far we had fallen as a program. A guy from Louisville passed on the opportunity to coach at Tennessee. Jones brought back stability and has recruited some good players, we owe him 2016.

I agree. Confidence for the young guys will be huge going down the stretch. No reason we shouldn't be 8-4.

Our fans are ridiculous sometimes.. He is year 3 of a complete overhaul of our program with 2 back to back top 5 recruiting classes. Before this season all I heard was " next year is our year". We lose our best defensive player and team leader in Maggitt and then lose a couple of close games to top 20 teams and 1 against a decent ARK team and fans start calling for his head. Unbelievable.

Nobody wanted to take over the " dumpster fire" that was created by Kiffin and Dooley. Thank goodness CBJ had the kahunas to step up and take on a job that nobody else wanted and is starting to show some reasons for fans to be excited. There is hope on the horizon

I can tell you this, BUTCH's players won us this game. Hall and Jones were unreal! Dobbs was unreal. Malone had his best game as a Vol. Butch's recruiting will show in due time. It's hard to win when your best players are freshman. I know we hate that excuse, but Jones and Hall should start the rest of the season. They did an unreal job tonight and they deserve so much credit for this win.

Guys, I can't even tell you how happy I am for our players. This game is one of the best live UT games I've ever seen. To share that with my Dad tonight will be something I'll never ever forget. Enjoy the win guys.

Also, say a prayer for Chubb. His injury was head turning. Hope he's ok.

Not to mention that I REALLY want him to succeed. I like the guy, he's a good representative of our program.

I'd love to see a 2-deep at the end of spring practice and then how many of those players are either playing hurt, out with injuries or not on the team.

I don't know what Butch bought, but it's great to get a W.
This win helps a lot. We needed to stop the bleeding after the heart breaking loses we've had this year. I'm going to enjoy it and not worry over Alabubba till the game starts! Great win, enjoy it players, coaches, and fans. GBO
