One thing I've noticed this year is Butch is a lot more confident.

In game or during the weekly press conferences. He's laughing and joking more with the media during the press conferences. And a lot more chill on the sidelines during games even in the face of adversity these first 2 games.

Maybe he knows something we don't?

Probably so. He gets his information from far more than just watching film.

What exactly would he know that we don't? Just curious.

I would assume that after working at the same place for over 4 years, you'll be more relaxed, confident, familiar, etc..

Um, er, you typically suggest Butch is just about the worst coach to ever walk the earth. So coming from you, this could be construed as positive. What's up?

LOL.... don't mess with D4H... he'll be watching replays of the games to see what Jones might have seen.

I'm not sure he understands that the "film" the team uses is drastically different from the TV broadcast or that it is designed specifically critical review of every player on every play.

4.1 million a year buys a lot of confidence

Interesting point. Perhaps he knows we are capable against the lesser competition we have faced. A good litmus would be to watch his reactions in the Florida game.

Don't forget the clicker he uses during his show. He will spend 10 minutes on 5 seconds of film.

I see it to. He is just waiting for this SEC gauntlet. He has confidence in his players and they want to go out and compete against the big boys (SEC). Don't overlook Ohio, but I just sense a quiet strength, internal confidence.

Maybe we're hiding players and schemes that we're gonna debut against Florida?

I don't know.

All I'm saying is he's a lot less uptight that he's been in the past.

I would bet on that.

If he isn't and what we have seen so far is what shows up to Florida..yikes..somethings wrong.

Hopefully the "confidence" proves to be rooted in reality. At this point, between comments like, "Let me educate you... App State is a good football team," and his QB Club statement that UT "overachieved" last year it appears he may just have begun drinking his own kool-aid.

If we don't beat Florida that confidence is going to have run its course in a big way.

This isn't a serious question is it? He gets payed millions to know more then we do. Even if you don't think he is right for us, or he is above his head, he sure as hell knows a hell of a lot more about the game then any ass hat on here.
