By all accounts, Butch still has the team on board. This season was rough... really rough. But, I think injuries were beyond the norm this year. Basically, we've been starting 3rd stringers at DT (which was already our weakest link), our LBs are 2nd string or injured, and the O Line has been a walking trauma unit.

Nobody wants to hear excuses. I'm with you. Losing to Vandy is horrific. BUT, I hope cooler heads will reign. Butch and his staff need our support, not infighting and second guessing.

Look at LONG TERM successful programs... their fanbases understand ups and downs, and their coaching staffs are steady (Pittsburg Steelers now on 3rd Head Coach... in the past 47 years).

The generation of immediate gratification needs to take a seat and shut the f up.

True Vol fans get this.

I love the steeler comparison too. I'll wait by the mailbox for Butch to win a Conference championship much less a National championship.

Reality is you sunshine pumpers don't want to admit he isn't the guy and are completely ok with losing as long as the Vols are above .500 no matter the opponent.

You had me until the true fan card was played. Any non-true fans are off rooting for Bama or Clemson or some other team that has their crap together. Only true fans are left and many of us want to hold the university we love to a higher athletic standard.

We are stuck with him for at least another year so I'm going to support him in as much that I hope he gets it fixed.


I'm not going to hold my breath though.

It's not that he doesn't have my support, it's that bc he is a horrible speaker and has made very questionable calls and players leaving and running the read option with Worley and chart says and so on and so on and now recruiting will dive and former players bashing him and we are a plane in the air with no motors ! It's not about support! It's about logic and it's our time to stop hiring value coaches and pay to the level that we are and we are Tennessee b!tch ! And until Butch is gone ! He is my coach and has my support

I will always support our Vols as a team. Since he is a part of that team, then yes, I support him. But I don't think he's going to bring us to the relevance we want. So, as a leader and head coach, no, I don't fully support him.

So, in reality, Butch is an excellent public speaker and representative of Tennessee (i.e. the anti-Kiffin), and his OC and DC make the play calls on offense and defense.
