Florida rallies, survives for 11th straight win against Vols - Yahoo Sports

"Up 26-14 after Jalen Hurd's touchdown run early in the fourth, the Vols decided to kick the extra point instead of attempt a 2-point conversion. The point ended up being crucial.

''We have a chart that's pretty standard in football, that maps it out,'' Jones said. ''We just felt at that stage of the game, we had great confidence in our defense of getting off the field. We felt very comfortable with that decision.''"

Between this and the "analytics," I've had enough. Butch, there is no chart that says you go for 1 in that situation. When are you going to stop this garbage and accept responsibility by just saying you blew it and that you will never ever do something so stupid again?!

Every coach in America has that same chart. And as Booger McFarlane so eloquently put it "every coach in America goes for 2 right there except Butch Jones"

Maybe he was looking ahead to the defense folding again and giving up 2 TD's and so that extra point allows us to kick a FG to win at the end (rather than tie if the 2 point play failed). His analytics failed to take into account 2 stupid penalties and clock mismanagement in the final minute that led to a 55 yard attempt

I'd almost rather he fake it at the end. Roll the dice like Les Miles and sneak in QD as the holder to throw a pass to Preston.

I was hoping for exactly the same. We all knew medley would miss that FG. fake it and go for the TD. So what if it doesn't work? Same result.

A chart on how to blow leads, make bonehead plays and anything that helps you choke a game away. If B!tch wants to keep his job he better ditch that chart.

My Lord is that sad. A chart? That sounds like something I would say if I were coaching college football. Refer to the chart. Doesn't somewhere in the flow chart it say " go for two", "blitz the QB on a 4th and 14" etc.

Can I get a copy of it at the local library?

We were up 12. Even if we go for 2 and don't get it. Floridas 14 points still gives a win with a field goal. Your math was a little off.

He's a liar. He lies to cover up terribly stupid mistakes.

1. He didn't spend five hours analyzing whether to go for it on fourth and a blade of grass. Come on. He didn't.

2. Jalen Hurd wasn't tired in the first quarter of the OU game for that goal line third down. BS. The guy is a machine.

3. He doesn't have a chart that says go for 1 in that situation. That's not what the standard chart says.

4. This isn't his dream job.

5. He isn't completely committed to staying at Cincinnati and building something really special, as he told them right before he went off to interview with Colorado.

coaches like Bryant, Paterno, and Bowden didn't use it. Didn't need it. Jones can't read the situation....and defers to a chart that doesn't account for the fact that Florida wasn't gong to score quickly....

If he needs a chart at this point, he doesn't need to be coaching!!
