Swinney's first 3-4 years at Clemson he tried to have his hand in everything to mixed results. Took a step back and hired ELITE coordinators, let them work and became an elite program. Chad Morris also helped develop his successors in Tony Elliott and Jeff Scott. Don't see Butch having the ability to step back, but if he is truly "evaluating" everything in the program then some changes need to be made in the coaching staff. Hire the best you can get and become the CEO. The best way to determine if you have those type of coaches is to see how many are wanted by other programs.....don't see that with our guys.

Dabo is EXTREMELY lucky this year to only have one loss.
Louisville runner just stays in bounds.
NCSU makes an eAsy field goal.

Their defense is not very good.
Not horrible like ours, though.

Pretty sure this season's results are not the point he is trying to make.

Fumble recovery in the end zone

Well Butch got rid of Jancek. That at least shows he is open to the idea of replacing his guys. We shall see what happens.

I can also add that his DL coach is Dan Brooks.....do some research on some of the guys he's coached. It's a who's who.

Shoop was an elite hire, before we lost half our players to injuries you guys thought he was a genius.

Offense doesn't look like a huge problem and Debords 2 year contract will be looked at.

You could argue offensive line coach, secondary coach, and a need for qb coach.

But you could learn a lot from others who aren't miserable when we could win 10 games for the first time in who knows how long.

In the UGA, if Hurd completes a play is the hail mary needed?

I never understood how people think like this. If Hurd scores...then the whole game is different. It's the "butterfly effect". We could've lost by two scores if he would have made it in. We'll never know.

Yep. You never know, but the steam roller was cranked up and moving down hill if he had not let up on the play. Hurd looked like some freshman show-out back on that play.

Sometimes it takes a generation of players to change the culture in a program. Let's hope the player meeting in the Sunday after the USCe game showed him the culture truly has changed for the better and that he truly can let go of the reins and trust his coordinators and his players more. I know that loss rankles the fans but in the long term it may prove to be a true turning point for the program. Time will tell.
