You probably heard about the "tee shirt" on Sports Animal this morning. UF fans have so overreacted to Kiffin that they may be setting themselves up for failure. With all of this "we'll hang 60 on the Vols", to tee shirts being made... what if the game is close? Flordia can lose, by winning if the Vols stay close. Much worse, if the Vols do the unthinkable, we've got pictures, quotes and tee shirts to fan them with for a generation.

This is akin to the Babe pointing to the fence and then jacking one out of the park. The UF fans are certainly pointing in the same direction. Their oveconfidence could be their undoing.

Can Urban really back up what his fans are putting out there? Pretty soon, Bear Bryant couldn't back up the predictions this fanbase is making.

Nah their so arrogant it wouldn't matter unless we beat them. If they win by 1 point they will still talk trash because that is what trash does. Now if we beat them I will trash every gator forum I can find. I can't go anywhere to read Vol stuff without seeing a Gator trash talking fan.

Who knows they might be in for a suprise breaking in a new OC which they think is no big deal. We'll see. USC is the only team I have ever seen that can keep putting in new OC's and not skip a beat

Been saying since the last incident and all the hubbub that CLK can't lose in this deal.

If it is a blow out... that's what was supposed to happen with the commonly accepted talent gap. If it is close then it is a very good strategic loss in that CLK can tell recruits, "We outcoached them, we just need YOU to win". If UT manages to pull a great upset then all the fallout you speculate plus more would fall on the two programs.

disagree. A blowout is a problem. All other outcomes work just fine.

IF IF IF IF IF IF IF Florida lost to us you know ESPN would replay and replay those comments made by Kiffin saying "we will sing Rocky Top in the swamp" making Gator nation puke their guts out all week. :clapping::dance2::rock:

I'm not a fan of how our fanbase is handling the whole thing but there's not a whole lot I can do about it. I come from the school of 'act like you've been there before.'
I don't think it'll be a blowout like in recent years, but somewhere in the 2-3 score victory, with one of those coming late just to ice it. a W is a W in my book, but we are being set up to look bad by our own fans if it isn't a blowout. I can't wrap my head around any circumstance where we lose this game now that complacency is out the window.
as for the new OC, playcalling has been by committee between meyer and mullen for awhile. from what I understand it'll stay that way with the new guy (steve adazio) and urban will have more of a say. fwiw, meyer has a history of surrounding himself with pretty qualified guys who have yet to be a let down. and addazio has been with the program since 05...

Look I dont give a rats a$$ about what they are talking their is no way Florida Hangs 60 on our Defense or our coaching staff. NO WAY!

Last year our Offense was a horrible disgrace and we cost ourselves a lot of points becuase of turnovers. If we dont have those same costly turnovers then no way does that happen. They put up 59 on us because we had a true freshman secondary when we played them 2 years ago. Last year the offense and SP cost us the game. This year we will have balance on both SP and Offense and we will be blitizing like crazy on Tebow. We are bringin the heat this year boys!!

While I would agree that chances are we will lose, upsets do happen.

I would give us better odds to win this game than I gave Memphis in '96, and we know what happened there.

Of all of our deficiencies this fall, we should have 4 things: 1) strong defense, 2) decent running game, 3) discipline, 4) good execution.

With that solid foundation, if we get a couple breaks, i.e. turnovers, big play on special teams without giving one up... it could be a close game. And at that point, ALL the pressure is on the gators.

So while I'm not predicting a victory, its not out of the question. We still have talent in spots, and I firmly believe that we are getting excellent coaching.

Fla won 30-6 last year, and we were terrible. They will be lucky to put up 30 on the defense we're going to have. I look for it to be a close battle with Tennessee pulling the upset 24-21

Can any NCAA coach really back up what the fan bases say prior to any games?

You'd have to search long and hard to find the level public banter that has been going on between these two teams. Gameday is coming down, probably because the Gators will be ranked #1 for this game, but I think they are also coming down because of the blood in the water. They want to be at the epicenter of this story as it comes to a conclusion. No matter the result of the game, it will be the most talked about game until the next week.

According to some, it is the MOST nationally anticipated game from now until its conclusion. The publicity we have received is Kiffin's doing. Should he prevail, our recruiting class will be the best we've seen - perhaps ever.

good point. I'd be willing to bet most coaches despise a lot of people in their fan base.
and I think the one thing we can all agree on is the swamp is going to be as loud as it has ever been for any big game (im thinking 4th q against usc in '06 level). home field adv is going to be a major factor this year.

I agree. As well, if we can just stop the incredible number of false starts on 3rd and short after driving the whole dang field, we're in the game.

Urban Meyer has won two of the last three National Championships. He doesn't seem to have any problem "backing up" anything. Anyone who thinks the game with Florida this year will be remotely competitive is a candidate for a padded room.

I respect you hat and usually agree with you. But this time I do not. Now I don't think we have a chance to win. But you always say billy donavans two championships are a product of that special recruiting class. Do you not think an average coach could win with tebow and company?

No matter what the score is, one thing will be for sure. The Gators will know that they have been in a real smash mouth football game. I think CLK and this team is going to throw everything they got at them including the WATERBOY.

Maybe, but I'm pretty sure average coaches don't win at Bowling Green or Utah.

Winner, so many Vol fans just want to discredit him because he is the Florida coach. It's just crazy, you can't be that successful at different schools that quick and be average.
