I am glad that the Vols have a back that will slam into the line, full speed and push the pile in short yardage situations. Jeremy "Bulldozer" Banks fits that bill. The young man runs with authority. Fun to watch.

He knows how to follow his blocks. Jordan needs to take note. He likes to try to bounce everything outside and do it in his own. What he did at the goal line was inexcusable. Bounce it outside straight in to 3 defenders.

Bulldozer is a perfect nickname to describe his power! He's got that spin move too!

It was outstanding to see him get all those yards after contact.

Jeremy Banks definitely has the size, strength, instincts, power, and agility to break loose from tackles or avoid them, but our smaller sized backs can get yards after contact too if they'll just keep their legs pumping like pistons until the whistle blows.

At the next level, Roger Craig (of 49ers fame) was a back who always kept his legs pumping until the whistle and was a semi-finalist for the Hall of Fame this year. Many, many yards are available to backs who keep their legs moving after they get wrapped or hit. It could make or break a career and be the difference if one back does it and another doesn't.

A few plays yesterday where Banks could have picked up a few more yards or break a long one if he makes a cut or two instead of trying to bulldoze everyone, Jordan needs to hit the hole and go, instead of going horizontal. Yeah, if you combined them, it would be the perfect back.

Got to teach Jordan when to just hit the hole, and teach Banks when to try and make that last guy miss.

But once they learn, going to have one helluva backfield.

O line looked much better after the delay. FLA D line will be a different story so we'll see if Friend can make adjustments on the fly. He better be able to. Regardless, Banks should get at least 50% of the carries. I think he's a more powerful, but most importantly, disciplined RB so far. He's clearly excited to be here, balling out and trying to pump up the crowd as he goes. He's a hoss!

I really like Banks...and all our backs. Would like to see our OL get off to better start rushing. Too many tackles at or behind the line of scrimmage. Am sure they'll work on this. Who knows, by FL game, with another game for Jordan and Banks to get PT, those two provide the smash mouth running, and Chandler can "house" one.

So maybe our o-line is better than what we all once thought. Jordan just wasnt hitting the holes. That there will affect the passing game as well. Make us one dimensional

I'd like to see Banks and Jordan both watch a little film of the UK RB. That young man does a very good job of letting his blockers develop those blocks and then running off of them. This may take a little time to develop but you'd like to think their hs coaches would have emphasized this more for them.
