BTO’s Baylor Postgame Report

Tied for career high in PPG after this weekend, and not quite a career high in 3-pt%, but yes to everything else. Career high in RPG, too, but also a career high (by a lot) in TOs, which is my chief complaint, again, if you can even call it that.
The Louisville game is inflating that number, remove it and his 5 game average is right on par with his career averages

Completely agree on all this as if i wrote it myself. Especially the Cade-Fulky comp which I've made on here. He's a bit of an unsung hero who has been thrust into a larger role than expected. Mashack has been solid. Gainey is much improved.

Surprisingly, I could make an argument that, at least offensively, that ZZ has been the biggest "disappointment" if you want to call it that. He's just made some decisions (poor shot selection, bad passes, over-dribbling) that wouldn't be expe ted from a guy with his experience. He's still making plays on the defensive end at a high rate...arguably our best defender. And he is distributing the ball well when he makes the right decision.

Just a compliment to our entire team as a whole to make a case for the most beloved member of the team to have perhaps the most room to get better just by improving his decision making.
Yeah I agree that ZZ has been offensively from shooting and turnovers an area that can hopefully improve as season goes. Really like the balance on this team and let's different guys have off nights each game.

Barring injuries (really need Estrella back soon) - we may have another really special season if the newcomers continue to adapt and develop. Chaz will now have a big target on his back so he will need to show he can hit that pull up when they crowd him on the line. I still think Igor has the highest untapped potential despite playing well so far and I really liked what Dubar showed in his minutes. Agree 100% on the point about Gainey (a fav for me since he joined the team) and Phillips.

Fair enough, but the Louisville game happened, fraught with poor decisions. Hard to just ignore it, especially when the sample size is only 6 games. Take away his 3-pt shooting from that game, and his season percentage dips to 28%, too.

Strictly from a credited TO perspective, that game does seem to be the outlier, though.

For sure, just saying outside of that he seems to be taking good care of the ball, but also true his shooting would dip outside that too

I'm especially stoked about Cade. I had some high hopes for him, and they're now even higher. His athleticism is underrated, and he has a great motor. He'll struggle some at the 5 when he's giving up a lot of bulk, but I think he's going to play a key role this season and beyond.
