The judge dismissed a Misdemeanor Domestic Assault charge against sophomore defensive back Bryce Thompson. Thompson appeared in a Knox County courtroom for a hearing Monday morning.

The plaintiff decided to not pursue charges. The charges were placed after an incident at Stokely Hall on campus last month involving his girlfriend.

She said the two were in a loud argument, but that Thompson never touched or hurt her.

As was stated by most involved or as onlookers. Whole lot of nothing about nothing... Blowing off steam, immaturity seems to be the biggest problem. Just pretty big and old to still be acting like a young high school kid. Maybe he will see the "light", some do some don't. I hope he can be a "do".

And yet he missed three games.
Would he have made a difference against GSU or BYU?

Charge against Tennessee football's Bryce Thompson is dismissed after girlfriend testifies

Wonder what would have happened if all you moral warriors would have prevailed? Not for our game, since it doesnt seem he helped us from getting our tails kicked - but for him, Bryce, the player. I for one, am glad that at least the coaches and admin gathered what facts could be known and then made the decision rather than ruined a kid's life because he got in a loud, stupid argument with his girl. I wonder what potential recruits see? I wonder how the team sees it?

Violence should not be condoned but then this culture of arresting 8 year olds is going too far in the wrong direction and I am glad to see at least in this case that the UT Admin did not subcumb to the noise.

She was probably in fear to tell what really happened. And threatening to shoot up the school shouldn’t be tolerated.

It's not surprising, but dude seriously needs some anger management help.

Guilty until proven innocent cost him several games. We need a return to innocent until proven guilty in this country. Screw being judged by social media and group pressure.
He was innocent until proven guilty. You're confusing public opinion with actual court proceedings
