If they lost their coach, would the following programs take the Pearl.

1. UNC
2. Duke
3. Kansas
4. UCLA

I hope he never leaves but his stock has risen so much. I just wondered if an elite team would want him to coach for them.

well in the world of what if's, i'd say that the answer to the question is that yes, he'd be on some of the short lists for any of those schools. but you can take UNC and DUke off that list, neither one of those coaches are going anywhere for a long, long time. KU, i could see them making a change if KU flames out in the tourney....UCLA? i have no idea.

but he's more of a midwest guy....so i'd be more concerned about big 10 teams like Micigan, ILL, OSU, Wisc etc...but in the short term, i don't see CBP going anywhere anytime soon.

The road hasn't even been built that leads to the bridge we'll have to cross on this.

Couldn't we just enjoy the moment.
Today begins the best four days in college basketball, and our guys are on the dance card. It's all sunshine and puppy dogs for me right now. Why ya want to rain on my picnic???

I like to think we don't have too much to worry about when it comes to CBP leaving any time soon. He has said many times he wants to finish his career at UT. I think he has what it takes to make UT a powerhouse over the years. GO VOLS!!

My leprachaun will suite up for the team, he has dunked on noah before and can shoot better than Lofton

I believe Bruce Pearl will get more satisfaction out of creating his own history and tradition at TN than becoming just another successor at another historically rich program where almost any coach can be successful. No one is going to pay him more than we will. No other program will give him a better opportunity to create a legendary history, ie Rupp at KY, Woodson at UCLA, Smith at NC, and of Course, Pearl, the Earl of basketball at TN.

Why is it that so many people can't tell when to use the words 'there' and 'their'? (See first post in this thread.)

It seems that paying attention in English class in elementary, middle, and high schools even 50% of the time would have been quite helpful.

Why is it that so many people on message boards are Grammar Nazis?

It seems that being civil to others just 50% of the time would earn one a better reputation.

Hey, you don't have to be a 'Grammar Nazi' to understand simple stuff. (By the way, HotlantaVol, you did very well by not spelling it 'grammer.')

You missed my point - the point of this message board is to critique and contribute to the substance of what is being discussed in the threads, not to check for spelling or grammar errors. If you want to check for spelling and grammar problems, become a copy editor at a local newspaper. Grammar nitpicking won't be well received here.

I don't lose any sleep over all the mistakes, I can assure you. It just seems to me that more people would want to take a little more pride in what they write. After all, they were exposed to this grammar stuff year, after year, after year; not for just a few weeks during their lifetime.

And don't you worry about my 'nitpicking'!

UCLA and Kansas might. Not sure about Duke and UNC. He's got too much P.T. Barnum in him for Duke, especially.

OK there bud ... I'm sure if this was a poetry and composition forum, people would take more pride in their grammar. But we're talking about sports ... 'nuff said.
