I travel every week for my job and started flying out of K-town instead of Asheville, and Bruce Pearl was on the flight sporting the orange and white. The other week when I was in Atlanta I ran in Troop Taylor, god I love my job.

I once shook hands with Billy Joel while he was singing, "The Longest Time."

I once had a 3 minute phone conversation with Sidney Bernstein, the producer who brought the Beatles to America.

I once spoke with Lester Flatt and got his autograph when I was a small child.

These are my main "brushes with greatness."

Thats cool. Im a big Joel fan...can I ask how it was you 2 met up? was he on stage or just walking around somewhere?

he was sort of onstage...it was a concert at Murphy Center on the MTSU campus back in the mid 80's. He was, as I said, performing, "The Longest Time" and got off the stage, running up the steps thru the crowd, shaking hands with people lucky enough to be sitting at the end of a row...I was one of them. It was very cool! He was married to Christy Brinkley at the time, so there's no tellin' where that hand had been...lol!

Pearl, Forbes, and Tony Jones all came by my school today recruiting Leslie McDonald and Johnny Williams. He was there around 9:30 and came back later to watch us play pick-up.
This is probably the fifth time I've met him personally, and he remembers my name and everything.
Pearl is a really nice guy. It's like the fourth or fifth time he has been by, and he's always introducing himself to everyone.
Coach Cal and Coach Kellog came during lunch to talk to them too.
It's really funny watching all the students that aren't associated with our school's basketball program get star struck.

Also, my cousin used to live next to Trooper. He's a super-cool guy.

Lester Flatt, I didn't think anybody remembered him.
He was my uncle's brother-in-law.
