We were never going to get Gundy. J.J. McCleskey(vfl who’s son plays for ok st)said he could have told UT Gundy was never leaving.

Seems like a no win situation. Keep Haslam in charge and we're just rearranging the deck furniture moving out Currie with another Haslam stooge.

Let Fulmer take over and then what? Wasn't he on board with Doeren, who at best was on par with Butch. I would assume we'd be down to trying to unite the fans with by bringing in a UT guy like Tee. There'd be a honeymoon period while Tee learns on the job. But there were much better candidates out there if we had competent leadership and were willing to pay $6-7 mil from the beginning.

I don't like either option, but if it meant getting Haslam out of the picture I'd go with Fulmer. But personally, despite the current dumpster fire, I think Haslam stays in control for the same reason he's in control now....$$$$$.

I might change my opinion of Fulmer at AD if what I just heard is true. One of the guys on Basillio just said that Fulmer has a lot of respect for David Shaw and likes his style of football. Now if Fulmer can get that guy in here, that would be the best of all worlds.

Currie did it to himself. The two most controversial hires in college coaching are Leach and Schiano...and Davenport didn't want anyone controversial. TN is the only school I have heard of that interviewed either coach.

Every BoT member was picked or works for Bill Haslam, Jimmy Haslam was calling politicians cussing them for getting involved in highering the highest paid state employee. Its as Haslam led as any organization not running an illegal gas price scam gets.

Does anyone know why the Leach visit was so toxic that gets you fired? I mean,we were looking for a coach,Leach is a coach with some creds..ore wacko.

guys this is bigger than Fulmer... he did not do this... the big boosters and throwing the trash out and want fulmer to take the wheel for now for the coaching hire to keep the ship from sinking...then they can determine the real AD going forward

reports are Currie might have been as interested in putting in his name for the AD job at Washington State as he was about doing the job he had

That seems like a stretch. I mean Currie has to know he will never be hired by anyone after this meltdown on his watch. For him to be looking for a landing spot with fresh dung smell all over him is way out there. Think he would use his sterling resume at Tn for running up his salary demand?

Not true at all. Haslam is trying to smear Phil to get another one of his puppets in to continue his reign. I suspect Phil might have been one of the ones that leaked Shiano to give us time to get it stopped.
