For 5 games, per UT's release.

University of Tennessee Head Football Coach Phillip Fulmer announced Sunday that senior punter Britton Colquitt will be suspended for the first five games of the season for a violation of team rules.

“I’m very disappointed that Britton doesn’t appreciate the blessings he has been given from his family and his team,” said Fulmer. “Along with the five game suspension, I am taking his scholarship away and he will be required to undergo alcohol counseling as well as other internal punishments.”

Not sure I'd call getting a scholarship revoked getting off easy.

5 games for his 2nd DUI? Harsh for UT standards. :birgits_giggle:

pretty ironic that the colquitt family donates a scholarship fund to UT and then their son gets his revoked

thanks. didn't he kick off for a game or two last year? like #95?

This was posted in a thread last off season. Don't know how reliable that is, but he sounds pretty good. 72 yrd punt sounds like a stretch though.

I am a new fan.

You may look at my user name and ask.....huh? Well, I am OFFICIALLY a Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech - Class of '88.

I am a UT fan for two reasons: the most obvious is that I root for UT once a year when they play the Dawgs. The second is because my niece's boyfriend is the back up punter to Colquitt....Chad Cunningham. Ya'll need to do your homework because he's good. I saw him kick a 72yd punt and a 49yd field goal in one game in HS. He also kicked off and played QB. If Colquitt can't kick, Chad is your man. He is listed as a punter on the UT roster, and that is his main job, but he can put the ball in the endzone on kickoffs. He actually had a higher punting average in the Spring scrimmage than Colquitt.

I'm trying to remember how many kickoffs he put into the endzone (as the poster claimed) and can't think of too many

Britton is lucky to have his last name... otherwise he would have just lost his shot at making half a mil per in the NFL.
