I have read from posters on here and talked to others who feel that the "sit on your hands" crowd seriously take away from the excitement at Neyland. I have also experienced this somewhat.

I know several older season ticket holders and several older casual attendees. I have heard more than a few of these mention "not going back" or "giving up season tickets".

The reasons given all were about the way Fulmer was forced out. They feel he was wronged and we should keep people that are loyal to UT instead of worrying only about Ws and Ls.

My question is do you guys feel that there will be enough of the "giving up tickets" crowd among the "sit on your hands" crowd to get some thirsty, excited fans back in to Neyland? Bring back our HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always said if UT fans were as wild as UF fans at football games We would NEVER lose a home game with that loud of a crowd...Got to get crowds that actually enjoy making noise at the games.

I say that we need to have the same turnout that Alabama had to their spring game when Saban came to town for the first time.

I have been to the Swamp and Tiger Stadium, twice each and it is definitely impressive.

Im tired of these old farts at the games not making any noise, but that includes many young people to. I mean whats the purpose of going to games if your not gonna make any noise. The last couple of UT games that I have attended the crowd was not a factor in the game whatsoever. My overall point is that if you dont want to make Neyland a noisy atmosphere please dont attend the games, because we need folks that get the stadium rocking. It seems like the swamp, and LSU have fans that never sit down and are always yelling at the top of their lungs.

I respect the folks who have been filling up the stands for decades. I realize those fans have gotten comfortable, laid back, etc....But come on people. Make some noise for Christ sake. This is TENNESSEE FOOTBALL!!!!!

My wife and I went to the Nov. '06 game vs. LSU with a group of friends. We stood up the whole game screaming and yelling. I sh#t you not there were countless people having more fun watching us than watching the dang game!!

I am not implying it is only older people or that it is all older people. I have seen some older folks that can flat get down at a ball game. I have also seen some younger fans sitting on their hands looking like they just hit a big hog leg!!

but they have winning teams...I'm one that actually is loud but I guarantee you I'd be even louder if we were competing for something. it's hard to get loud and crazy for a team that has consistently let you down

It's sad to say but Columbia was louder this past Saturday night than Neyland has been in 10 years!

I understand that statement but if I could not get excited for the team I simply would not attend.

Sigh...John Parker Wilson said before this year's game that Neyland in '06 was louder than both Death Valley and the Plains. The stadium is loud enough when there's at least decent football.

I have gone to the games this year simply because I paid 90 dollars for my student tickets.. so in a way I kind of feel obligated to go not to waste my money. If it wasn't for that I would not have gone to one game. This year my friends and I simply get as drunk as possible before the games and laugh hysterically at our joke of a football team. It's hard to cheer as students when you have punks on the team such as Brent Vinson and Arian Foster that do nothing but run their mouths and continuosly let us down.

Unfortunately thats what our team has consisted of over the last couple of years. It took Cutcliffe to bring some discipline to the team but when he left the discipline left with him.

We could be a lot louder if the Blue Hairs would give up some seats!

Not too much in the last 10yrs to get crazy about...
It has been the same ol' same ol' for a long time now.

I remember times when that stadium was the loudest place I have ever been to. What about when TN crushed FL 45-3 in a complete downpour? I remember fans, including myself taking off their rain gear and swinging them around above their heads!

Those days are in our future again. Bring on the new HC and lets start having fun at Neyland Stadium again!

I wouldn't say that. Maybe on a consistent basis, but the 06' yr when we played FL. I was in the south end zone and all i heard was a ringing sound in my ear when Mitchell picked that ball off and scored. This was before we had the roughin the passer call but man that place was rockin!

I guess it is somewhat unfortunate that the people who can afford season tickets, or know the right connections to get season tickets, are generally the older people who dont tend to get very rowdy. Our home field advantage has been non-existant the past 5 years or so.....pretty sad.

What are these smart alec remarks about blue hair and older people NOT making noise at games? Geez a loo people, we sit in "T" section and it gets loud over there..... I certainly don't appreciate remarks being made about us older people just sitting there cause it's lively over on the other side....
And you can be any age to get season tickets- give a call to VASF and they'll explain... I happen to be on the fund raising committee..... Hate it when people go on about older people.. your day will come..
:eek:k:

GO VOLS.....
GO BIG ORANGE ....

I specifically said that in my experience it was not all or only older people. That being said the older folks were the large majority. I just look at it this way. If I were not going to stand and cheer, I simply would not go. No offense to the older crowd who will at least stand and cheer during exciting points.
