"Trust me, you're going to know a lot about him," Childress said. "He's going to be playing a lot. He's been a big surprise. He's a guy we players thought might redshirt, but he's done a great job of getting his weight down, developing his game and understanding our offense.
"He's real strong, real physical. He's a load. You can't really move him. He moves his feet well for a big man, and he's decently athletic, and he's got a nice touch inside the paint and around the free-throw line."
He would have challenged for it, but the reason he is getting the start for THIS game is because of the Chism/Crews issues.
"That's how well Brian has done so far in practice," Pearl said Thursday. "He's got minutes now. He's going to get at least 20 tomorrow night."
Williams said Pearl told him he would have started regardless, and it would have been because of a grade point average that would be 3.5 if the semester ended today.
"He said the (centers) have been the closest on the team, so he went off grades, and I had better grades than Wayne," Williams said.
